My brother tried to play GW2 this free weekend with his previous trial account, but the game won’t let him log in, it says that his “free trial account is currently inactive”. The Guild Wars 2 Free Trial FAQ says that anyone, who participated in any of the previous free trial weekends are invited to play this weekend too, so we don’t know what can be the problem.

Anyone experienced anything like this? Is there a fast solution for this, so we can play this weekend with my brother?

It might be that you have to make a new account each “free trial event”. And the only way to play on his old account again is to upgrade it to a payed account. Again im not sure if this is true but it might be the problem.

If he has another email address it might be easier to just make a new account for this free trial? I know any help from support takes a while so he’d miss it.

The FAQ says that the previous trial accounts are eligible for this weekend too, so I think it’s not intended that he can’t log in with his old trial account.

He plans to buy GW2 by the way and he wants to upgrade his account later this year, but yeah… Making a new account just for this weekend seems like the good idea if we want to play this weekend…
