I really like the priory weapons, as they seem in the preview window, and so I bought the greatsword on my mesmer, thinking it would be slim and elegant, and cool just like the preview window. But to my surprise, after spending a hefty amount of money (almost 6g!!!) I found out that the weapon IS ENCASED IN CRYSTAL.
What the hell? Isn’t the whole idea of the preview window to know what the weapon actually LOOKS like? This isn’t a rant thread and so I’m getting off topic.
Know that Priory weapons are incased in crystal and are not as they look!!!

Right click the item and the sub-menu should have a preview equipment option.

Seems like all crystalline structures do not appear in the Preview window; the same thing happens for Sylvari Cultural Weapons.

Thanks guys, tbh I’m starting to not hate it, but still I’m disappointed that I purchased something that looks nothing like what I wished to purchase.. Hopefully like you said, you guys now know how they really look for the better and for the worse!

It wasn’t until I saw a Priory NPC using a Greatsword that I went and bought some weapons. They look fantastic, and I hope the issue with effects and transparencies with the Preview window gets fixed soon.
