Guild Wars 2

Good day everybody,

I’m struggling with my decision which profession I should play. I started playing in stress tests and played for 2 months after release, then unfortunately I was forced to take a break through exams. Last week I restarted to play. I missed loads of content which I completed 2 days ago, hard times for me to gain the knowledge of the previous content updates. Whatever, this is not the problem.

I don’t have any professions on level 80 since I started a new one everytime, because of feeling unlucky with my desicion.

My chars are;

- Level 58 Human Mesmer
- Level 49 Sylvari Guardian
- Level 33 Human Elementalist
- Level 11 Human Engineer
- Level 67 Norn Ranger

I tried a lot, but I just don’t find a profession that gives me a nice feedback, that I’m doing well/being useful. I’m not a really bad player, so classes I need to master shouldn’t be a problem. Also a point is being useful in (earlier levels) WvWvW/instances and having a nice leveling time, since this is the point of failure. Maybe it’s kind of the human lore I got rid off. So suggestions for a great story line would be fine too.

I can’t talk to WvW usefulness, PvP of any flavor not being my driving passion, but I have very much enjoyed my sylvari guardian in dungeons. Heck, in one run of the Molten Facility with a pack of Charr, a couple of times I had to just jump off the final boss platform because I was staying alive but not damaging the boss enough to make it worth everyone’s time watching me as they lay dead … they called me a “resilient little twig.”

Not only does she survive well, as a rule she extends everyone else’s life with all her aegis and such, plus the Elite heal gets everyone to full if I can channel it before someone goes down.

I use scepter/focus mostly, with sword/shield for a change of pace, and utilities that block and protect. I feel very useful indeed.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed Guardian isn’t that bad, best W/L rating in sPvP with nearly 73% wins of 68 games played. I also felt great in CM and AC. But something was missing.
Gonna see what other will write.
