I am about to delete one of my characters and remake him as other profession, however I wouldn’t like to waste 270k karma I’ve managed to gather.
Do you know whats the best way to monetize it? I thought about purchasing obsidian shrds, but they are account bound and I am not planning to create any legendaries any time soon.

Is there any karma vendor that offer rare stuff for example? I thought there is at least one, but now i cannot find him.

I’d be much grateful for assistance.

Well it may seem so, especially that I have unlocked over 300 dyes on him

But it’s a guardian, one of the most boring profssion, so I would never play him again. Especially because I am not an altoholic, and when I play mmos, I only stick to 1 character. I play casually so I always take my time to achieve any goals.

And that’s totally understandable. But, again, is it necessary to delete the character? I see no plausible loss in just making a second character and leaving the first one behind in the background. But to delete a character that you’ve already spent so much time on… if it were me I know that a month or more down the road I’d suddenly feel really sad to have tossed all that away.

I digress, I haven’t answered your question. To the best of my knowledge the dev’s set barriers in place to keep karma and gold separate. This is why you can’t dismantle or vendor any karma gear, so as not to let the currencies overlap. Not to mention there was a big hubbub about monetizing karma at release which turned into a fiasco about system exploitation. My assumption is that, no, you will not be able to monetize your karma.

I want to use the same name on my new character. Thats the main reason. And like I said I would most likely never go back to guardian. it’s just way too boring.

Use karma to buy armor skins u like (like temple gear or some such) .. transfer skins to white weapon/armor ..stick it in bank for ur new char. New char grabs white item and uses skin from that to put on their current armor. Enojy

Use karma on account bound items ..stick in ur bank ..other chars can use.

You can stick karma items into the mystic forge and sel lwhat comes out ..but it isnt very efficent.

Actually it’s pretty efficient to buy level 68-80 greens at 1-2k karma apiece and throw them into the forge trying to get rares. Then you can either dump the rares back into the forge for a chance at exotics (NOT very cash efficient, usually lose quite a bit of profit potential) or salvage the rares for ecto (pretty decent profit potential)

what’s the karma for 1 gold from greens?

personally, I had about 336,000 karma and decided to offload it.
I decided to buy exotic armor from a karma vendor in Orr (I looked into rares after trying this, but decided it wasn’t as cost-effective).
1 exotic for 42,000 karma
I bought 8 (different types)
I put them into the mystic forge and got 2 exotic armors (one was named), which I sold on the TP for about 8g total.
so that was about 42,000 karma for 1 gold.

edit: for greens at 2k karma each x 4 = 8k karma for 1 green sellable for about 2s is 400k karma for 1 gold. chance of getting rares, and less than 2k karma each will decrease the karma required, but exotics might still be the most cost-efficient.

either way, karma is not the way to go if you’re looking for a fortune. It’s more of a bonus after hours of regular looting
