When it says “personal reward level” what does that mean? If I have a guy at level 12 and he does a level 4, will I get pristine fractal relic and chance at ascended ring?

I’m just confused cause I did a level 10 and it said “My levels is 12, fractal level 10, and my personal reward level is 12” What does that personal reward level refer to?

The personal level refers to the level of rewards you are eligible to earn.

If you do under lvl 10, you will not get a Pristine Relic, even though your reward level is 10+. The levels are also bracketed in groups of 10. IE: 1-9 will only net Fractal relics, 10-19 will give Relics plus a Pristine Token and the chance for an ascended ring.,20-29 will give relics, pristine token, chance for infused ascended rings, lvl 26+ also has a chance to drop a weapon skin (if i recall correctly).

On the other hand, if your personal level is under 10 and you do a lvl 10 or higher, you will not get the pristine relic. However, you will still gain a personal level for completing it.

if your level is above the level you play, all rewards are related to the level you played, and you do NOT go up a level upon completion. They mentioned something about extra karma in this case, but I’m not even sure where you get karma from in fractals, so iuno.
if your level is below the level you play, you DO go up a level upon completion, and I’m not sure what level rewards you get. AriaSilverfyre is probably right that you would get rewards that your level would give.

so if your personal is say 12 but you do a 10 you still having a chance at the ring at the end or does the personal level have to the 10.

As long as the lower of the two levels you see is at least 10, you will get a pristine relic and a shot at an ascended ring from the daily chest. If the actual fractal level is lower than your personal reward level, you will gain some karma as well.

Just use the lower one of both to see what you get. Check the wiki for possible rewards (per level).
If yours if equal to or lower than the level you join, you get +1 personal reward (and the end)
if yours is higher than the level you join, you get karma instead (I guessed ~8k karma once)

Your ‘current reward level’ is the lower of your personal reward level or the level of the fractal you are doing.

Doing a lower level fractal run than your personal reward level will yield rewards tied to the lower fractal level. For example: if you are level 16 personal reward level and you do a level 8 fractal run, your daily chest will be a tier 1-9 daily chest and thus not contain a pristine fractal relic.

If you are level 16 personal reward level and do a level 10 fractal run, your daily chest will be a tier 10-19 daily chest and contain a pristine fractal relic and a chance for a non-infused ring.

If you are level 16 personal reward level and do a level 22 fractal run, your daily chest will be a tier 10-19 daily chest and contain a pristine fractal relic and a chance for a non-infused ring.

Doing higher level fractals than your current level will not yield you better rewards. It will allow you to group up easier while still gaining a personal reward level.

Doing lower level fractals than your current level will not gain you a personal reward level upon completion, but it does allow you to group up easier and gain extra karma from completing the run.
