Guild Wars 2

So I’m an engi running a grenade condition build, and I want to add a superior sigil of the warrior to one of my pistols. My question is – if I put it on my offhand pistol, will it still kick in when I switch off my kit? Or does this type of sigil only work for mainhand? Obviously it doesn’t REALLY matter – I can just equip one into the other slot if it decides not to work. But I’d just like to know.
