Hello! I’m new to this game. I have a question on Servers. On the FAQ, it states that transferring to other servers would require a fee of 1800 gems. However, the next line also says that I can play with friends in other servers since April 2012, ‘megaserver’.

So, my question is, does choosing a server affect my ability to play with my friends or do I have to be in the same server as them to add them and play with them. As of this post, my game download is at 40% so there is still time to answer before I choose a server.

It affects your ability to play with your friends insofar as WvW is concerned – you can only play WvW with your server (against others); the Megaserver allows you to PvE with anyone you like!

Except from people from different areas that is…(no possibility to play with NA players if you are from EU and vice versa.. :/ )

• If you are on the same server you can do everything together.
• If you are on different servers in the same region you can do everything except play World vs. World together.
• If you are in different regions (one in Europe, one in North America) you cannot play together. You can send mail but that’s it.

If you’re on different servers and want to play together you can pick a server to visit as a guest (this is free) which means you play as if you’re on that server. But you can also just form a party, go to the same map and (if you’re not already on the same one) right click their picture and choose ‘join in map’ (which is also free).

Alright! Also, about the digital heroic edition. What happens if I delete my first character? Will I still be able to get the in game items if I delete the character and make a new one?

You won’t be sent the items again.

But you can put them all into your bank, and then keep them there until you know which character you want to use them on.
