Q:

Hey all!
I just reached level 37 and wanted to purchase my T1 cultural set.
Before I do so, I was wondering if it will be randomly assigned a prefix (honed, strong, etc.), or if I am able to select the prefix?
Or does it even have a prefix at all?
If it’s random, I may just skip it and save my gold until a later time when I want the skins.
Thanks in advance!

A:

Each race have a specific prefix on their armor by default (you can see it while you are buying the armor), but after you buy the armor and unlock the skin, you can apply it to any armor with any prefix you want, obeying the race and weight of the armor of course.

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

Before the wardrobe, I would warn you against wasting money on ANY items before you reach 80, but since the purchase would unlock the skin and you could use it on any of your (same race) characters from then on….go for it.

As mentioned above, Cultural armor (not weapons) are only wearable by that specific race and the stats are fixed (but different per race).

Here is a wiki table that details this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cultural_armor

Thank you very much for your replies! I’ll grab them for the skins then, because the Sylvari gear has no stats that I really need.
