Q:

If we have a question that players can’t answer, should it go into Players Helping Players or in General Discussion?

If I make a topic, and consider putting it here, I think “If I put it there, the devs might not even read it, and players will just be speculating because the info isn’t known yet.”

What to do?

Payers will be speculating no matter where you put it.
If you think it is a question a player can’t answer I guess General Discussion is your best bet.

If you don’t feel comfortable or you can trust the player base answer, then it wont matter where you post it.

Players helping players is typically friendlier to questions, especially questions from players that are not experienced with GW2.

If you don’t trust the answer or simply think it is above the player base knowledge, then I would suggest submitting the question to the Support team.

But, it has been my experience, that you typically get the right answer here and if we don’t know it, then we will direct you where to find the right answer.

I’d say it depends on what the question is.

If it’s something technical to do with the games function or an error or something like that then contact support. (Bear in mind that some things they can’t always answer – like why you get disconnected, and some they won’t – like how exactly Diminishing returns or IDing and banning bots works.)

If you just don’t trust players to know the correct answer or to give a constructive response then post it either here in General Discussion and accept that you’re going to get player answers no matter what and may or may not get a dev to answer.

If you think there isn’t a definite answer then post it in General Discussion and we’ll all have a try, or speculate forever more.
