Q:

Just wondering about the two different Market Data displays. What’s the first (cheaper) one you see soon as you click the gem tab in TP supposed to be? Before you select which type of exchange you would like.

A:

The more expensive one is converting gold to gems. The less expensive one is converting gems to gold. I believe they did it this way so that players did not abuse it by converting gold to gems and then making more money by converting it back to gold.

they didn’t want people to use the gem exchange as stock – where you buy low, sell high. That’s why selling gems gives far less than the amount of coin it cost to buy those.

Basically it’s a 15% gold sink at both ends. The gem to gold rate is 72.25% of the gold to gem rate (or 85% squared).
