What is a good RP server? I don’t rp myself, but it’s fun to watch others really get into the game, so I was hoping to find an rp server to lurk on.

Pity the game has no real “world chat”. Gets lonely out there sometimes.

The Unofficial server is Tarnished Coast in NA. However, with the mega-server system, all servers have equal access to one another outside of WvW.

There are no ‘servers’ in PvE, really. You are placed on a map with friends, guildies, language, etc.

That said, Tarnished Coast (often Full) is the unofficial World for RP in NA; Piken Square, I believe, for EU.

There’s an LFG field for RP, I check it farily frequently but no one ever puts up any groups. If you want to find a group for it try putting something in there when you are online

Piken Square (EU) and Tarnished Coast (NA) is correct. I would recommend also to join guildwars2roleplayers.com if you need help finding RP friends or an RP guild. There’s a directory of characters and RP guilds there.

I think the mega-servers have made things like this largely irrelevant.

I play on Desolation, which before mega-servers were introduced had something of a reputation for being the “serious” server – the one everyone wanted to get on for events that required a full and coordinated map, but also the one where they’d complain that no one chatted in /map.

Since the mega-server system was introduced I regularly see people role-playing (particularly in Rurikton and Western Commons in Divinity’s Reach, Rata Sum and Ebonhawke). I have no idea what server/s they’re from but I often end up on the same maps as them.
