Ranger or Warrior?!?!
Rangers in dungeons are not very welcome – no matter how well you play People look for guardians, warriors and eles mainly … 2k AP might still get you kicked a lot of times, no matter the class …
I play both Ranger and Warrior, though I haven’t taken my Ranger into a dungeon. I believe Rangers are quite accepted in dungeons totally depending on what you bring. If they see you with a bear and a bow, you’ll probably be kicked immediately. I suggest you look at metabattle.com to see the Ranger meta and the Warrior meta. Choosing a meta build for dungeons doesn’t mean you have to use that same build in all things, if you’re not into cookie cutters, but using them in a dungeon will likely get you welcomed rather than kicked.
For a Ranger, pet management is key for dungeons. For a warrior, you simply don’t need to worry about a pet, so it can be easier.
From any other standpoint, I love both these classes. They’re both really fun to play. Do you NEED a warrior for dungeons though? No. Roll one if you want to try it out but you can easily do all content with your ranger.
Basically who does more dps in PvE? I do enjoy my ranger but I am craving a heavy class and decided to go with warrior over guardian.
Warrior no question cuz it’s a pure dps class !! But seriously if you want to play warrior at it maximum potential you need to spend no less than 100g.
You can have a war only for dungeon/fractal and ranger for the rest no one gonna judge you.

I thinks your information is a little outdated.
Warrior and Ranger are both mid teir personal dps classes that bring good offensive support, warrior has better self buffing ability and more passive defense with heavy armor, high health pool , and healing signet so is generally better for better for playing with less skilled groups.
Strength runes are not the optimal rune for warriors(so 100g to gear them up is false) unless they are running a PS build and or soloing, even in those situations scholar runes are still very effective and the optimal rune for the main DPS build.
OP if you like ranger play ranger and get good with it. If you want to play war play war and get good with it, or play both you don’t have to pick one. The best players in the game(both pve and pvp), while they have classes that are favorites, have played all classes extensively. It helps to understand what others are doing with class Y so you can play X to it’s fullest, for example someone who mains guard but has played ele will think about timing their light fields so the ele doesn’t blast them by accident.
I have both Ranger and War so i know what it feel to compare 2 classes and i had 3 set gears on my war so the pain is real trust me !! but as i said if you want to play war at it “maximum” potential mean you take it seriously then gold is needed ( Rune/Sigil ) otherwise any runes even rune of mesmer crap sigils are still good for war.
Ranger actually are a very good class versatile, jack of all trade with cheap rune but effective ( rune of ranger ) but sadly dungeon community in this game are suck so unless you do dungeons with friends or guildmates no matter how good you are on your ranger you still suck cuz the way ppl look at ranger.
So here is the thing Ranger are fun to play with pet/spirit/good skill animation any where you go you wont be alone on your journey but not welcome in dungeon. Warrior strong class like a hurricane alway easy to get in dungeon grp everyone love war but so darn boring gameplay and poor skill animation.
But again Warrior is worth your gold and have reward gameplay if you decide to take it seriously
If you learned the combat in this game with a mostly bow Ranger, get ready to relearn combat with a Warrior. I’m not saying that to be discouraging as this is a GOOD thing (you need to learn how to Melee in this game).
