Guild Wars 2

I cannot get the door to the Cavern of Shining Lights to open no matter what I do. I looked up how to get there on videos, and it worked the first couple of times I went, but I can’t get the door to open and my progress is stuck right at that door. I have killed that light infused gollum several times and I cannot get the door to open (which is what the only video I watched told me opened it). I do not know if it is bugged, but if anyone knows how to get it open and would tell me I’d appreciate it. This is for Living Season

It would be much easier to give you advice if we knew what story step you’re on and what the instructions (in green in the top-right corner of the screen) say to do.

But here’s a few ideas that might help, roughly in order from simplest to most difficult:

1) If you’re in an instance leave it and re-enter. If it’s a bug it probably won’t happen again and if it’s something you’ve missed or misunderstood repeating the preceding steps might make it clearer.

2) If you’re not in an instance and the problem is that the Defeat the light-infused Inquest golem event is active try coming back later, switching to a different map or asking players to help you complete the event.

3) If you’re on the story step Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough (the only one where I remember fighting inquest to get in) it might be because you missed one of the green quest markers along the way and the door will only open when you’ve completed all the preceding steps. In this case look for a green star on your map, go there, and then look for another one.
