Relationship between damage and weapon stats

Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
Armor in this case = defense + toughness
This is for base direct damage only. Critical hits do at least 150% base damage (+ 1% for each point of critical damage you have, IINM).
Not sure what you mean by purple circle, but it may be related to a certain effect you’re causing either via the skill itself or via a combo.
Regardless, engineers are usually going to feel weak in terms of direct damage. You can end up being decent if you go all in as a grenadier, but otherwise it’s more about managing the enemy’s position and stacking conditions etc. to keep the flow of battle in your favor.
