Q:
Retail Gem Cards
It’d be great to get a list of retailers. Not really fond of running around this town looking for a store that carries them.
If the stores weren’t so spread out, sure.
So lets get a list out there.
Do these codes work everywhere in the world? What I mean is, do these codes work for every version of Guild Wars 2? I hope so, because that would make it possible to buy gems without being forced to pay the Euro price.
hope they don’t charge a ton for them like they do on time cards in Canada. i see 2 month play cards for wow selling usually for 40 bucks +tax when were above par on the dollar.
one thing for sure is you will be paying taxes which at least for now you don’t when using a credit card ingame.
Qoute: If gem cards aren’t in stock at your favorite retailer yet, be sure to ask if and when they’ll be arriving.
I reckon all the regular ncsoft resellers will sell those and a lot of others (cause GW and GW2 is an out of the box gem for ncsoft), but like anet is saying if your retailer isn’t selling them, ask them bout it, the more people asking them they will see that it is a good trade and they start reselling them….
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Earlier today, I did a google search and the only place I could find them was Amazon.com, for $33.99 (USD). That gives you 2000 gems.
Just found them at Amazon.ca. But they are more expensive (36.46 CDN) even though the CDN $ is virually at par and, infact, has been often worth more than the US buck recently.

Is there a list of retailers anywhere, or are there plans to make one available?
Thanks
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
I would suspect that this card is for those who don’t have credit cards. They should be shelved in retail stores and not in places like amazon.com or new egg, places that needs credit cards anyway. (Well not really in amazon since you can buy gift cards to load your account)
Well, the first retail store I went to that sells the game did not have the gem cards showing in their system as ordered. Sure I can phone around …
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
If you buying from Amazon, make sure you are buying it from amazon directly – it should be 25$ for 2000, not 30$+ the third party it sometimes lists as the default.
also note that there IS sales tax on these cards. Ordering 3 cards from amazon (25$/200 gems), and the tax to be collected is $6.57 (on 3 cards). so you get 75$ worth of gems (6,ooo), but paying 81$. since they are mailing you the cards, you still have to also wait the few days for them to ship.
i think they should just send the keys via amazon mail, or account mail. in-game gem shop is still a bit better than cards, it looks like. i still bought 3 for 81$ USD, so i am hoping i could buy more character slots and storage slots.

What retailers in Canada will have these?
Tried E&B games (Canadian version of Game Stop) and they had no idea what I was talking about.
Bit of clarification on what countries/stores sell gem cards please. Original announcement says nothing about that.
Still want to know which actual real stores carry these in Canada. Was told by the manager of my local E&B games that I should look at the US Gamestop site to see if they stock these; they don’t have them either.
Again some official clarification if and WHICH retail stores actually sell these. Thanks!
