Q:
Retroactive chests
A:
I believe that you have to log in each day to get one chest. So after 3 days you will only get 1 chest. I believe, i will be able to confirm this tomorrow as i will not be able to play until than. (i have not played since this patch).
Edit: Just confirming that you DO only get ONE chest per day.

Probably need to log in to get them
Maguuma Server
Ranger and Necromancer.
I haven’t played since last saturday, and I can’t play until sunday. It’s killing me slowly.
I wish they were just chests that you could stick into inventory than bouncy ones on the left side of the screen. What does a non-PvPer do with a half a dozen PvP only items, half of them unusable do to class restrictions. I see it as a ploy to encourage players to buy another row of bank slots.

Those can be deposited into the PvP locker. For any extras if you don’t play sPvP there is really no reason to be hoarding them. Maybe one of the PvP rewards chest will include a PvP Salvage Kit.
If they were really so concerned with selling bank tabs I doubt they would have the 8 tab limit per account.

As someone who’s never done PvP, where is this PvP locker? Let me guess, somewhere in the PvP area, a place I have no intention of every going.

PvP items should transfer directly to the PvP locker when you use the deposit all collectibles option in your inventory. The only reason they won’t transfer is if you have two of the same PvP item. No need to store them in your bank at all.
Edit: PvP lockers are in the heart of the mists – if you ever use this to get free transport to LA then they are behind you on the right as you head to the LA asura gate.

If you don’t log in the chests will continue from where they left off. You’ll keep getting 1 per day (when you log in) until it’s cleared the backlog, then you’ll get 1 every time you earn another 500 achievement points.
And yes the PvP locker is in the Heart of the Mists, the PvP lobby. You get there by pressing the crossed swords icon at the top of the screen. Don’t worry, the lobby is like a PvE area – no one can or will attack you there and you don’t have to actually do any PvP.
It’s worth knowing about even if you’re not into PvP because you can get there from anywhere in the world and it plants you right in front of a portal to LA.

Oh thanks, I didn’t know you could deposit them directly. That will save me a lot of time and hassle.

The PvP locker is also a convenient place for previewing gear. Especially if you plan on mixing sets.
Also for testing certain traits/skills/sigils/runes since changing traits there is free and so are the items.
