Guild Wars 2

I haven’t been in game for quite a while, and was wondering what major changes have come about? When I left, Fractals were the “new thing”, but was a huge pain in the rump because everyone had to be at or past an equal fractal level as the lowest person in the group. Other than that, there were three dragons to run back and forth to kill when bored (who never seemed to drop anything good), or try to find (at the time, somewhat unwilling) groups to run the dungeons to get the “end game” armor…I can’t remember what it was called, but all sets had the same stats for your class, but the design was different based on which dungeon you grinded out the currency for in order to get it.

So what’s happened since then? I’m interested in playing again (nothing else to do at the moment), and when I left i had a max level Guardian, Warrior, Ranger, and Thief. Have they increased the storyline at all? Any particular hard nerfs or boosts to specific jobs or abilities? What do you all do for fun when playing these days?

Oh, pardon me. While browsing the site on my phone, I didn’t see those (the titles tend to get cut due to screen size), and the page wouldn’t load all posts. Thank you for the schooling, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside o.0.

There have been changes, of course. Tweaking, balancing and such as well as story moving on. But the basis has not changed, you will still be able to play like before.

Right now there is the opprtunity to do the Southsun Cpve Living story. It will not be with us for a long time, so I’d start with that if i were coming back now.

That video is wonderful, if a bit long (but hey, who can blame it?). I’m about 52 minutes into it ;-) To start the Southsun story, just follow the little quest pop-up in the game, right?

Apparently I was wrong, my Thief and Guardian are max level, my Ranger and Warrior are late 20’s, mid 30’s. I guess people still level by spamming the events, because I logged in to the centaurs attacking the bridge again, and about 30 people ran around the corner ;-)

Events, Crafting, Gathering, Hearts…levelling has not changed.

In Lion’s Arch there is a new Asura gate near the Fractal’s entrance, but you can still take a ship from the harbour as well. Only the ships now drop you to the same place as the gate instead of the two harbours before.

Right now doing 100 events is one option towards the monthly and so people will show en masse to events. The Southsun instigator farm zerg is a nice way to get those, though.
