Hi all.

I’ve been away from GW2 for over a year now, but that was only for maybe a couple weeks, didn’t get much done in it. Before that, was only a few months after initial release since I’ve played.

Obviously, I’ve missed more than a lot. Highest character is 46 right now. Just basically wondering if there’s any tips on what I should get into? Or just a bit of help getting along. Seem to be able to make a few gold a day, more or less, but keeping equipment up-to-date seems pretty costly.

Just explore the world, level up, and do the story and get a feel for the game again is what I’d recommend if your highest character is only 46 and you haven’t been on for so long. If you have interest in it, you can play PvP or WvW. You could find a guild if you don’t have one, so then you have other people to play and chat with.

As far as equipment goes, I tend to just upgrade my equipment every 10 levels, and I only get masterwork (green) armor until the higher levels as it’s cheaper. Each piece is only about 2 silver or so. Story rewards tend to give rare things anyways. Though when you get to 80, you’re going to want exotic gear.

That’s about what I’ve been doing. Along with dailies/bosses. Gotten about 3 gold a day doing the lot of that (I know it ain’t a lot when a 18 slot bag is 12 gold), but it’s keeping me equipped.

Though the bosses are a bit annoying. Haven’t seen a single piece of yellow armour for my warrior. Always light/medium and weapons I can’t use.

Leveling has better rewards now, so sticking with the gear you get from it is feasible if not optimal. Make sure you do your dailies; the rewards are worth it.

A lot has changed, so take your time to familiarise yourself. There’s a thread with a recap of the changes, but I had a spot of trouble finding it.

If you are looking at 18 slot bags that are 12 gold you are looking wrong.

Sorry, 20 bags are. Not that I need that kinda inventory space right now anyways.
But still, 2-4 GP is a third/half of what I got now. Point is, expensive in my book.

Side note, if anyone has an answer. What’s good to do with Karma? Sitting around 22000. Just save it?

Biggest change is the revamp to traits, again, and you may have to repurchase some of your skills. But this can be done with hero points you get as you level. By level 80 you will have enough just from leveling to unlock every trait in every trait line as well as every skill in your profession. Hero Challenges will provide additional points.

As for 20 slot bags, that’s why I run with “cheap” 15 slot bags.

As for what to do? Dailies, boss events, explore unexplored regions.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

You can get 20 slot bags a lot cheaper (depending on the candy corn supply). Check for the exact rates but Sonder the Seller in LA (if he’s still there after the rebuilding) sells 20 slot bags for 3 cobs. 1 cob = 1000 candy corn. I think you can get the bag for 3 or 4 gold. Still a lot for you, but once you’re looking at 12 gold bags on the TP it’s a bargain.

Also if you do fractals you will amass relics and you can buy 20 slot bags with those, although they will auto-grab masterwork items (the cheapest fractal bags, that is).
