Major changes ? – Well kind of
Apart from the updates, and discussion going on changes to the loot mechanics of guaranteed rares from mega bosses, guesting, and paid world transfers ( oh and the end of culling in WvW ), you have the living story PvE Content
It’s A.Net way of progressing the story / lore in the game with drawn out events and changes in the game world. Each phase releases sequentially.
It has it’s own achievement, and can be quite fun – next big update for the same to come on 26th March
Another set of changes are the Guild Missions, that take place in the open world – essentially content that requires coordinated play amongst a group of people. An example is Guild Bounties, where your guild has to track down and apprehend/kill a character. ( Like a Zaishen Bounty )
They can be unlocked as upgrades via influence.
Some compare it to raid-like content for GW, but meh – I digress.
For your choice of char, if you were comfy with the ele, go with ele ( biased advice from me as I play Ele a lot )

Ok cool. So the updates I have read up on and that’s fine.
I’m just wondering if there’s been any major changes to the way the professions I mentioned play?
I like supporting more than anything else so Mesmer and guardian were my faves
These are the most noteworthy changes I remember for elementalist:
-Ride the Lightning’s cooldown has been increased to 20 seconds
-Flame Aura now gives might whenever you get attacked
-Frost Aura now reduces damage by 10%
-Renewing Stamina (that one arcana trait that procs vigor on crit) has been changed to have a 100% chance of proccing vigor on crit. Vigor procced lasts 5 seconds and the trait can activate once every 5 seconds.
-Fury and Swiftness applied by Shocking Aura under the Zephyr’s Boon trait no longer last twice as long as other auras.
-Magnetic Grasp (Dagger, Earth 3) has been split into two skills. One immobilizes your target, the second makes you leap to your target.
-Healing done by Evasive Arcana has been reduced by 50% in PvP only.
-Evasive Arcana’s effect in earth is now a blast finisher.
-Fixed some bugs involving Mist Form cooldown and being stuck in blank skillbars
-Added fields and combo finishers to certain attacks, namely underwater ones
Nothing major overall, though aurasharing has become more powerful with the added effects on the two auras.
