Returning and would like some Assistance
A lot of people will look at you and think “He stacks defensive stats? Blocked.”. But I say have at least a little bit of Vitality/Toughness, because everybody and their mother uses Berserker gear, and its just kitten. I run Power/Toughness/Vitality in dungeons, and im the one running around res’ing all the “max DPS berserkers”
The reason you need to res them is either because you can’t kill the boss fast enough, or they just aren’t good enough, you really should run berserker gear for dungeons
Wow, really? XD Totally different than when I was playing. Warriors were blocked if they didn’t have a utility bar that was 2/3 Defensive abilities. It just doesn’t feel right to be in all that heavy armor and still drop like a fly if someone sneezes on you wrong.
Side note, i’m trying to update the game but it’s stuck at 3 files left. Downloading, but no progress is made. It WAS 70K+ when I started. Restarted the client but it’s still not made much progress (0% currently.. after a few minutes). Is there something I should know?
I usually use healing signet, signet of fury, banner of strength, banner of discipline, and signet of rage on warrior, with axe/mace and axe/warhorn with a bloodlust sigil on the warhorn for max dps
I also usually use 4/6/0/4/0 for traits if there’s no other warriors
People actually use Banners? O.O Have they been buffed from being lame short-duration-with-little-boost flags?
So subtle. But I think I can help you.
If you are decked out in all purple gear then you are already ahead of everyone else.
You are playing warrior, nuff said, don’t worry about stats. Go 0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0 because otherwise people report you for exploits and cheating.
Mesmer is not really a good choice for RP. Staff thief is usually the norm and people will recognize you as such.
Abyss Dye average price at the moment is 4500G, so yes, pretty good. They totally dropped the drop chances though so you really have to farm now.
Hope that answers all your questions, please don’t hesitate to ask more.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Dyes are account bound now and far cheaper than before.
As for banners, yes, Banners of Discipline and Strength are sought after for dungeon runs.
As far as warrior is concerned, yes beserker gear is the meta, and DPS is king. However that doesn’t stop me from running my valk gear, and the only complaints I’ve had are about the look of it, and on the forums. In game, while they still happen are much more infrequent. GS is pretty much the standard weapon of choice for warrior, although axe/mace is highly favored as well.
If you are planning on using your great sword, This build can be VERY useful for stacking might in parties that lack it. I run it occassionally and love it.

Nice.
From what I remember (been a while.) I had Healing Signet, Endure Pain, Dolyak Signet, and For Great Justice. Going to assume that’s not exactly good anymore?
Also, Deep Strike. Did they fix it where it doens’t give massive amounts of crit anymore?
Healing signet is necessary, never run a dungeon without it, for great justice is fine, and dolyak signet is good when you need stability
As a side note, it’s impossible for you to have all Purple gear. Do you mean all orange/gold (exotic)?
XD I’m sorry. All Gold. Been playing too much WoW lately. And I figured Healing Signet would have either been really really good or replaced by Healing Surge.
Signet of Rage still miles better than Juggernaut or the Standard?
Standard is definitely an option, particularly for harder dungeons like arah
I always take Battle Standard with me in group content, except for when we’re skipping sections. I know others who don’t bring Battle Standard, though. Generally speaking, If you’re the only warrior in your party, take Battle Standard. If there is another warrior (or more than one), you’re fine to switch to Signet of Rage (or you could ask if they’re going to run that banner before switching).
Signet of rage is a must for might stacking, but also adds a good source of swiftness, might and fury. With SoR, and FGJ one can almost keep purma fury, and a few stacks of might. I have found stances in general to be very situational. I take balanced stance in AC when running the graveling tunnels, and finding the 5 scepter pieces. Endure pain can be helpful when in a tough situation where you are getting downed, and could use a few seconds of surviability to keep on the DPS.
But basically take what you think you need, and can always switch out per situation when OOC. so it’s not that big of a deal.

Thats highly unnecessary.. maybe when running through mobs I will sometimes take Battle Standard in case someone gets downed, but in general case for pugs you dont need bother. For organized groups sure, since you will be getting perma might and fury anyway you can get whatever elite you want. But you will be sacrificing your personal dps as well as swiftness which is always useful, and from experience whenever pugs actually need Battle Standard at fights (like at Lupi), they will disappoint. At best I will run EA if I’m the only warrior, I don’t even bother with phalanx build anymore since it’s not worth it. too many noobs these days.. lots of Eles that don’t might stack or drop FGS at all, thieves that dont know how to blast or stealth past mobs, etc.
Here’s a good guide for warrior PvE build, the Main Warrior is the one I run for pugs and for cases like Arah I won’t even bother and will just go 6/5/0/0/3. its entirely up to you what you decide though, there are a couple of options with builds.

Righto. So took all of this in consideration and ran Arah story (Nope, never did that part of the personal story!) in whatever gear I had (WOO VIGIL!) with a PUG. It pretty much ran like Argon said, I was surviving a good bunch of damage unless I got careless or didn’t dodge the easily telegraphed big ones and rezzed most of the time I wasn’t fighting. First power core was a massive wipe, but we all got the rhythm down and (mostly) did well. Till the airship. That swarm of constantly respawning undead was like going through a Gary Gygax mod… holy hell. Pretty sure we were supposed to be backed up by NPCs, but until they actually got inside the ship and started attacking randoms we were on our own. Finally made it out with me rezzing who I could, 100Blades any groups, then Flurry to kill em, and shooting the dragons. Took a while, but it worked. Zhaitan himself was a cakewalk.
What I used. Though Signet was swapped for the standard in the Mouth of Zhaitan fight and stayed that way until we actually killed that kitten dragon.
