Returning player....
Where to start…..
a: whole new map: Southsun cove (look for an npc with a boat above the head in la)
b: living story, this is still developping, but basicly it has a few nice additions to norn and char maps as well as new achievements and two new instances. end of the month is the last part introduced.
c: A new dungeon Fractals of the mist, this one is progressive with better rewards in higher levels that aremore challenging.
d: Daily and monthly achievements have been revamped, giving you some daily and monthly things to do that are imo actually interesting.
e: a new gear level (ascended) thats above the older exotic max gear.
f: world bosses have been redesinged with a better reward system, but also with a daily limit (you can now guest on other servers at will and people where taking advantage by looting the same boss with better rewards over and over and over again, as well as causing overflow on those maps, wich was annoying for people who where on their own server).
I think this covers it for a shortlist
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
interesting ty.
As far as pve for warriors, hb still OP? and is rifle still the best single target dps?
hb??
Considering your next question is bout the rifle you might mean longbow (and maybe confused with the gw1 hornbow).
I wouldn’t call it OP, but considering a warrior switches to ranged weapons mainly if the melee range is too dangerous, I would say yes its a pretty good pick for ranged weapon. Though the riffle is better indeed for single target attackes.
For example some of the newly introduced guildbounty’s (forgot to mention those in my firts post) are real melee-haters. The same goes for some bosses in dungeon’s. In those cases a riffle would be better cause your doing a single target.
The warrior didn’t have great nerf’s nor buff’s, only some minor tweaks and twiches.
afaik only the thief had a big nerf recently.
(still very good in PvP, but they removed culling and changed the stealth mechanics.
Culling was the effect that some players weren’t visiable in big zerks, combined with staelth made that thiefs could be invisable almost all the time when hiding in a big zerk, thats removed and is imo a significant nerf).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Just to clarify a bit on the world event changes
World bosses (dragon events, Maw, and the like) and clearing temples now guarantee at least 1 rare (or better) drop per account per day. The odds of rare or better from the actual event chests remains the same.
Some another changes …
If you had 100% world, you have it no longer. There have been some new waypoints and poi’s added to various maps.
Orr was revamped.
The mob density was reduced along with the aggro range. Some mobs had their character models and attacks changed. Loot drops were increased, mainly heavy moldy bags.
Also, the murk was cleaned up, both on land and underwater, you can see stuff now. The Cursed Shore events around pent/shelter/jofast now include more vets and the odd champ. These scale with the number of players taking part in the event.
Changes to dungeons
AC dungeon was revamped with different boss mechanics. It is now considered to be a harder dungeon. This is something Anet will gradually implement for many dungeons.
Many ‘shortcuts’ have been removed in various dungeons.
Classes
Warriors keep getting buffed, Thieve still own WvW.
Every class, apart from guardians, has been hit with some sort of nerf.
Engineers and Rangers are in a worse state now than at game launch, many players have left these classes ..
That is all I can think of for now ..
As a 100 Blades Warrior, you should know that there was a universal nerf to Quickness. It now only provides +50% attack speed and not the original +100% attack speed. The Warrior’s specific Quickness skill had its duration slightly increased, but the damage penalty that the user suffers was not changed. This means that for PvP / WvW, a 100 Blades spec lost a large part of its burst potential and is still just as easy to kill. Or it might be even easier to kill you since people will survive your burst and will be able to hit you back.
Banners had their +stat benefits almost doubled, but that really doesn’t change much. Kick had its melee reach slightly increased, but this also doesn’t help. Beyond that, Warriors haven’t received any major nerfs or buffs that I can think of in recent memory.
Right now, PvP Warriors are considered a joke. They aren’t that popular for WvW. People will still use them for PvE, but that’s really their only focus.
