Guild Wars 2

Hello! I’m considering returning after several years and I have a few questions. In order for you to understand where I am returning from you should know that I stopped playing just prior to the first expansion and I played a guardian. Here are my questions:

1) At this point should I just start as a brand new character or would it be beneficial to continue playing as the character I already have?

2) I noticed that purchasing both of the expansions together (which I plan to do) comes with a max level boost. Is it best to use this boost or not? How empty is low level content? Will I be alone? Edit: My guardian is level 80… is that still max level?

3) What, if any, major notable changes have taken place that I should probably be aware of? Thanks.

4) I don’t remember if this game was server specific or not (sorry) if it is what server would be best to go to? I play EST time zone but I do not want to be alone as that is no fun.

5) this game hasn’t turned p2w has it? because if it has I’m not going to enjoy it.

Oh almost forgot, are they any returning specials going on right now that I should be aware of?

Leveling up a new character would probably be beneficial. You will be able to take advantage of all the tutorial level-up tips.

All maps are populated, as the game uses the MegaServer mechanic, which places players from all Servers into the same maps. (With the exception of WvW.)

Level 80 is max.

I don’t believe this game is considered P2W.

Even if you’re starting a new toon, keep your old one. The birthday gifts contain skins you cannot obtain any other way and some very expensive account bound dyes.

Look up BogOtter on youtube. He has some great videos for returning players. You can probably skip the first three or four of them at this point though unless you want to see all of the changes that have been made over time as a lot of those changes have since been replaced by new changes.
