Guild Wars 2

Hi guys! I am returning to the game after a good long break. Basically starting fresh, and new maybe with knowledge of just the basics. I know a lot has changed, and when I log in to my character I have no idea where to start or what to do. I would greatly appreciate a little advice/guidance on getting started again. Major changes, and such I am probably going to start first on my thief which is level 80 .

Just a suggestion but if you are feeling lost coming back after a long break, you might want to consider starting a fresh, new character. Keep your thief but maybe try another profession and start from the beginning by playing the character’s personal story. Playing the personal story will help you learn the lore of the game while guiding you around the maps, and introducing you to many game elements at a pace that wont overload you with information.

Ultimately though, there is no “one way” to playing GW2. It’s about just trying everything the game has to offer, and figuring out for yourself what it is you enjoy doing most. It might be pvp, running dungeons, making alts, doing achievements, wvw, role-playing, or just standing around in Lions Arch and socializing. Each to their own.

As far as changes to the game, the single biggest change recently has been the introduction of The Heart of Thorns expansion.
