I’m a GW2 player since launch, but after HoT and when the content drough (I think that’s how you write it) came, I left the game.

Now I’m returning, looking to do all the content that i left to do and some more (when PoF comes out) but I have a problem right now.. my gear is out of meta.
I’ve mained Guardian and Warrior for the most part, but now I’m addicted to Revenant and I know that my ascended set isnt good for him neither for the Warrior atm because it’s Berserker (I had it done before for my War and Guard, now only works on Guard pretty much).

I’m currently farming for Ascended trinkets to get some Viper’s (kitten you berries!!) but I’m still not sure if I should swap my set to Viper’s or not.. I’m problably going to stay with Rev and Warrior when PoF comes (Firebrand doesn’t appeal to me) but what if then the meta changes to another stat.. with so little time left I’m going to feel like I wasted my time farming berries..

I’m having all this doubt because i really want to try raids before the exp pack comes, should I comit to the swap, or should I wait for the exp pack, and then swap?

Ascended armor and weapons can be stat swapped in the mystic forge. You do need the correct EXOTIC inscription or insignia that you want to swap to, but it is generally cheaper than crafting new, at least for armor. But you will lose your runes.

Second, exotic armor is generally fine for everything – even raids – unless you’re trying to do a speed clear. Trinkets and weapons are substantially more important than the armor. Having said that…many will feel it is worth the expense to craft the ascended armor for HoT stats than to waste the money and mats on the exotic set. So if you ARE going to craft new HoT stat armor, rather than stat swap, you’re probably better off going the ascended route.

Now to your question – do it now or wait. Depends on whether you’re planning to run a HoT build or one of the PoF builds. Personally, I’d say take the time between now and the expac release to stack up mats and see which way to want to jump after the release. If you’re willing to stat swap you existing ascended armor, go ahead and do that – and continue to stack the mats since you may want to change it again soon.

BTW – I main a warrior in exotic berserker armor with an ascended marauder’s GS, berserker exotic mace/shield (or axe/mace depending on the day), and as of a day or two ago, marauder’s trinkets. And do just fine in HoT and LWS3…though my power marauder reaper has an easier time with champs.

Keep in mind PoF Elites and further balance changes can change everything. Don’t overreact to a current meta it wasn’t THAT long ago when zerker condi was considered bad. Plus zerker sets are good on other chars.

Also, there will be new PoF sets too… they may be non-HoT versions I don’t see new combos but – I’d hold up for a little. You will do fine w/ what you have now. I’d work on those trinkets/etc. worth those in Viper anyways but Spellbreaker may be good w/ power we still don’t really know. Or maybe I just don’’t :P

I really dont know what to do regarthing this topic, maybe I should go the safest option and stick with Zerker.. Its meta for Guardian in raids so that content I guess I can do it with the Guardian and leave the rest for my Rev and Warrior

Crafting a new set now is out of the options.. even an exotic one.. exotic viper is really expencive already and I wasted the rest of my gold finished my Berserker AScended stuff before I left the game so now my saving are a bit low

Also, does any of you know if I save the trinkets I get from LS3 maps without chosing stats, will I be able to get PoF stats when PoF is realesed? (I’m assuming no, but one can hope)

Since your likely to stick with Rev or Warrior, Go Vipers. Power Rev has been dead in the meta for a while. Power Warrior less so. But not ideal if you are some point getting into organized group content. (But if maining Guard, Zerk is the way to go)

qT just released there dps benchmarks, so take those number if you will, in Idea situations/weapon rotations. (their site also lists builds if you’ve never been there before)
