Returning player, need GPU help
This is insanely hard to narrow down….

There is the RX 560 Slim, but they’re insanely hard to find… only a few places even list them.
ASL GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Battle Flag is another one worth looking into….. but its a LONG card.
AMD RX series and Geforce 10XX series are both good byes. Pick what ever the hell you want from the two, you can’t go wrong anywhere. I personally rock the RX 480
To be honest though, you don’t need a super awesome GPU, GW2 is currently CPU bound. So… theoretically your processor should be fine.
I was going to reply with GTX 1050 as minimum, but there are no low profile single slot GTX 1050 cards.
The MSI has RX 460 low profile and single slot:

But it’s cooler is actually quite big, and depending on the PC you have, it still may not fit. I mean yes, it only requires 1 slot, but there still have to be room for second slot to fit that cooler.
It is also possible your HP power supply does not have extra 75 W required to run RX 460.
I dunno, looks like you are stuck with GTX 1030. Sure, it is better then integrated graphics but as video card it is very weak.
I think it can handle the RX 460 (unlocked and undervolted a bit)
It’s got a 180w PSU with a 35w CPU.
I was hoping someone with a GT 1030 could give some feedback. I can’t find any info on it with regard to GW2.
Looks a 1030 is a bit weaker then a 750ti or 7850 so I think it’d do all right at 1080P, medium settings
EGVA SuperNOVA B2 750W | 16 GB DDR3 1600 | Acer XG270HU | Win 10×64
MX Brown Quickfire XT | Commander Shaussman [AGNY]- Fort Aspenwood
Biggest problem is the tiny 180 watt PSU that’s in that unit.
Top end you can get a 1050Ti or an RX 550 but those are fairly power hungry cards, relatively speaking.
RIP City of Heroes
What model is your PC? With that psu the only thing is a 1050ti. They make a single slot 1070, but that psu won’t do. A new case and catch a 550watt psu on sale would be under $100.
The GPU would have to be LOW PROFILE & SINGLE SLOT, and under 7" long.
That means no GTX 1050 or 1050ti
It’s a 180w PSU with a single 15A 12V rail, 35w i7-7700T, 1×8gb DDR4, 1 HDD, 1 DVD
Doing the math, I don’t think the PSU would last very long trying to run a RX 460.
I’m thinking I might just return this system and buy/build a different one.
Only got this particular one because it was on sale for $487. I didn’t realize at the time the PSU was so small. (300w flex ATX PSU is about $70)
As far as I can tell from the reviews, a 1030 is more powerful than the iGPU. Whether it can run on your preferred settings, it’s hard to know. Your system isn’t really designed for gaming, and aside from the weak PSU, I’m going to wager you’ll run into heat management issues if you add a more powerful GPU.
If you’ve got any ambitions of gaming, you’d best return it and get a proper gaming system. (ITX if you want a small form factor)
