Hey guys, I played GW2 during living world season one but I haven’t touched it sense then (about 2… 2 1/2 years). I randomly got the bug to come back and see what’s up so I started playing again last week, when I played before I had a lvl 80 engineer and and a lvl 80 necromancer. This time around I rolled an elementalist, but honestly 45 lvls in I think I chose the wrong class for me…

Ele is cool and all and I know they are good at a lot of stuff but their defense is just a little to “active” for my play style… My big question is in the current meta what classes have the best passive defense? I was considering warrior or guardian but thought I should reach out to the community first.

If it makes a big difference I just plan on playing the personal story then running through HoT and living world stuff. I’m not big into WvW or PvE and this game isn’t the main one I play so I don’t have a ton of time to raid.

Thank you!

My standard advice for feeling nigh-invincible in PvE: Reaper. That means making a necromancer to 80 (which you already have) then unlocking a number of hero points (1 per location in old world, 10 per location in HoT) to fully open the elite.

If you are NA I can escort you to various hero points in HoT. You’ll just need to unlock gliding and bouncing mushrooms as masteries, which won’t take long at all — do the intro story that starts in Silverwastes, find one mastery point to commune with, and do a couple of event chains.
