Guild Wars 2

So I took an extended break…like six months? I am not sure when it was right when the living story stuff started happening. Anyway, I wasnt planning on coming back so I sold all my kitten and gave it to my guild…well some of them convinced me to come back because of expansion and what not. My question is, what should I be doing? Can I still do some past living story missions? are running dungeons still not really worth it? how about karma trains?

Also, have there been any big sweeping changes to mechanics and what not that I should know about (im not gonna read through almost half a years worth of patch notes, just sayin).

Though I could look this information up on my own, anything in particular I should do to prepair for the new expansion?

It’s a preview, but obviously the changes have been implemented now. The vid is by Bog Otter, whose videos are always light-hearted and informative.

I’d suggest checking out more videos made by him, or game bloggers like him (e.g. Wooden Potatoes, Matt Visual, AuroraPeachy). If you’re interested in the upcoming expack, they were also recently at ArenaNet for a Heart of Thorns preview demo day – and they recorded all of their gameplay.

Karma trains are in EotM now, it’s a WvW area. Pretty fun, lots of champs.

Silverwastes, world bosses and dungeons are the best areas for farming gold now afaik. Orr is good for T6 mats. The world boss train is also a great way to get account bound mats. Check http://dulfy.net/2014/04/23/event-timer/ to see world boss times and waypoints. Dulfy has guides for almost everything.

Living story instances cost gems. They’re unlocked for free for players who log in during the 2 week update period, but everyone after that has to pay. I think the latest update might still be active? Not sure.
