Just coming back for the new game. Heart of Thrones. I wanted to try the new race but I had to delete a character to do that. Don’t like the thief much so away he went. He was also a weapons smith so I had to start that over. The best way to gain crafting experience is by discovering new recipes. At least that’s the way it used to be.

My problem is the new character seems to know all the recipes. He has low skill but already knows them all. Is there any way to delete the craft and start over from scratch?

Thanks…

Since recipes became account bound with this patch I would assume that is why your new character now knows all the recipes now. I can see with consumed recipes knowing those on other characters but I am not sure with the discovered ones. It sounds like it applies to those as well from what you are saying. If that does apply that does put a new spin on trying to level another character in crafting via discovery…. You might want to submit a ticket about that and see what reply you get. Sounds like crafting needs some tweaks.

There was a patch recently which made recipies you have to find or buy account-wide, but ones you have to discover by crafting are still character-specific.

It is confusing when you start crafting on a new character though. I just made a random alt a leatherworker and they’ve got a huge list of recipes, most of which they can’t craft.

Annoyingly they also can’t hide the higher tiers because they’re locked.

The best solution I’ve found (in a very quick look at the options) are to click the little cog wheel next to the search bar in the crafting UI and then uncheck all the higher rarities – legendary, ascended, exotic and rare. That narrowed it down to just the starting recipes, and 3 random holiday runes which are easy to ignore.

I frequently use the search filter to make it easier to spot what I want, e.g.
For refinement, ‘ore’ — ‘scrap’ — ‘section’ — ‘log’ covers the basics.
