Returning to GW2 Any classes needed?
The game has only been out for five months. How long do you think you’ve been away?
Just kidding, really any class is good. Play what you find fun and you will be good to go.
Because of the lack of focus on the trinity, I don’t think there’s any class (or role, even) which is in especially short supply. I’d say your best bet is to just make something that seems cool to you, and learn how to use it. I’m sure you’ll find plenty to do with it whatever it is!
Here in lies the problem…. I like them all! hahaha. I was interested in the Mesmer. I played a thief at release but that was like being a drop in the ocean so many other thieves.
I read some angst against Warrior…
Some Elitism in fractals… 1 Guardian/4 Warrior groups, etc.
Of course Warrior could get the nerf bat by the time you hit 80; but seems plain you won’t have ‘that’ kind of struggle finding groups.
Warriors are your cookie cutter tanky melee dps
Guardians are great (they are tanky and can absorb projectiles)
Mesmer is useful all the time
The rest are more niche, but still great. Unless you’re an elitist I suggest playing something that suits your playstyle and you enjoy.
coin-toss-tournament:
1.: get a piece of paper and a penny
2.: write down (vertically) every class on that piece of paper in any order you like
3.: toss a coin, heads for the first entry and tails for the second
4.: cross out the looser
5.: repeat until one entry is left
6.: have fun
“Only the finest of potatoes in my zerkburgers.”
Warrior, Guardian, or Mesmer get my vote for sure.
What is needed are not specific classes, but decent players …
By that I mean players who take the time and make the effort to understand the classes they play, how to properly trait and equip for their rolls, and learn the tactics/strategy to get the best out of the classes they play.
Everything but the Ranger is needed.
Even though I like the healing spring and traps because they can become pretty handy in some fights.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
If you want to play a class no one plays and still brings a useful support to a team, try an engineer. I have yet to see one in dungeon…
