Road to Hardcore PVE help? (Solo, Speedruns)
Nyanpassu~
Speed Runs like the ones you see aren’t what you’re going to get from an LFG group. Expecting it is only going to frustrate you. But, PUG groups are their own challenge mode, doing say Lupi melee while you have 2-3 guys ranging him causing teleports, bubbles and general unhappiness… fun stuff!
For a guild https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor there is a section for that.
Hi Yu,
Speaking from my experience as the person in charge of Noob guild and currently guest member of SC and rT, I would like to say there are many ways to that success.
First and most popular, befriend veterans and frequent posters of the dungeon subforum and get to join their casual friendly run. While its efficiency is only 70-80% of the real record run, you get to know the people outside their record grind and familiarize yourselfwith their tactics. It is still a world different from generic pug “speedrun”.
Second method is to train yourself at your own pace by solo the dungeons. Many great players I know spent a great amount of resources and effort to learn the encounters and master the trades themselves. Such is the case with most members of rT.
Thirdly, it is to find a great mentor and study everything from him/her. Many accomplished players are happy to help newbies become better. Maybe not all of them have the time for it and it’s by pure chance to find the right person for you. But do keep an eye out for a great player whom you come across and well, stalk them, ask for advices and help.
Last but not least, be prepared to work for it.

Mechanic wise, gw2dungeons.net is your best reference. Next one should be from your combat log and existing experience.

Im gona sound like a school teacher here and say personal goals are the way to go.
personal stuff like " Im gona take no damage from this boss "
Also find others and whipser around, no one will bite your head off for asking for help and showing your willing
From my experience it helps if you get to know people, run with them and stuff like that. Your friends list is an invaluable tool for forming good groups, but only if you put in the effort to develop your contacts. Then of course we have the skill and experience factor, but that’s already covered. If you’re unsure of anything, ask! We’ll explain in detail.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
I would like to thank all of you who took the effort to answer my vague question(s). I appreciate all the advice given and I will follow through.
Another question came in mind, (this may be too much to ask for a pug like me), but if I ever wanted to learn how to solo dungeons, where should I start off with? How should I go with it?
Thanks in advance.

First, do the dungeons with a group, learn it pretty well. Then I suggest going to youtube and find a video of a solo, there’s lots out there. There is also the link at the bottom of this post for where some records are posted… mainly done by goku and some other ridiculously good players, so don’t anticipate it going that smoothly, but you can learn some neat tricks from their videos.
You’ll note that there none for Arah, but there are plenty of videos online for it.
