Running out of things to do
Yes. I don’t.
I take time off an enjoy other things; GW2 is perfectly designed for that style of consumption. Come back whenever you wish.
Everyone who has 30k AP has played thousands of hours (5k and up). What do you expect? Just play a another game and come back if there’s something new to do.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
there’s always more AP to get, im at 31,7k so i just started to prepare for some collections i think will come to the game, and also doing the last of the wvw achivements i need
I’m a couple of hundred points from 30k, but I still have plenty I haven’t done. That’s because I don’t consume content as fast as I can. Mostly though, what keeps me going is my guild.
Since I like playing with them, doesn’t really matter much what I’m doing.
Duo Queue in PvP then, easy to carry your teams. Presuming you are good at the game and not terrible.
Also 30k AP must be like over 4000 hours (no judgement) so I’d say you had a good run in the game considering it was never designed to have a constant grind that was mandatory.
Temporarily yes, although there are plenty of things for to do, I’m just not inclined right now.
For now, I’m helping others and building the Guild Hall, whilst playing other stuff more

Best advice. If you have the newsletter going to your email, you can be pretty aware of what’s going on for content. Or just check the patch notes every week or two and hop back in whenever something catches your interest.
If anything, with the number of checklists this game has, you’re probably just running out of things you want to do. It’s understandable.

I don’t know if it’s just me playing too much, but I’m seriously having trouble finding the drive to keep logging in …snip… There’s next to nothing left.
Like what is said in all the other threads of this nature (which if you took the time to explore you’d find many of them) the answer is simple: stop logging in for a while. Go do something else.
One thing that keeps be going is that I’ve invested so much money and time into this game world (11 years), that quitting would be pointless.
Look up the term “sunk cost fallacy.” It applies here.
You’re not being disloyal to the game or your investment in the game by taking a break. No one should marry themselves to a single game. Explore polygamery.
Staying with a game that doesn’t hold much interest for you is what is pointless.
Has anyone else reached this point in their GW1/GW2 lifetime? And if so, what drives you to keep logging in?
No, because when this game starts feeling like a chore instead of fun/entertaining, I go do something else for a time. And, that keeps me enjoying the game…. because when I come back, it’s not to something to which I have any memories of dread or resentment.
Good luck with you and your exploration of polygamery. GW2 will still be here when you inevitably desire it once again.

Has anyone else reached this point in their GW1/GW2 lifetime? And if so, what drives you to keep logging in?
My husband reached this point about 5 years in, in GW1. He only logs in to help guildies out. He got to that point about 2 years in for GW2. He only logs in to work through the new story components or to help guildies out with something. Primarily because he doesn’t enjoy farming (although, I think there’s some depression issues involved here too given other symptoms).
Me personally? The only reason I don’t play GW1 often is simply because I’m playing GW2. Real life makes it difficult to play more than one game at any given time. 4000 hours (or so) in and I still have plenty to do. Granted, lots of it includes oodles of farming, but I enjoy doing that to some extent (thankfully). However, if I feel “bored” I also have no issue simply not logging in for a day (or 3) to give myself a break. It helps reduce the burn out for me.
It sounds like you need to do something similar. Just take a step back and have some breathing room. Read a book. Binge watch a series or two. Go enjoy some family time. Then come back in a few days, or even a few weeks, and see if you feel a bit more invigorated to play.
I have 2 other online games I play, and some offline games too. I just take a break, and play one of those. Or take a break from the computer completely. (Ha ha better said than done.) Always have another option. Don’t limit yourself to one game or thing, then yes it can get dull.

I’ll give you the same advice I gave last time you asked this question:
Help other players. Seriously. Offer aid in teaching story and explorable, fractals, LS and the achieves. Maybe make/buy some 12 or higher slot bags and head to starting zones to hand them out (caution: I suggest engaging in RP-style /say discussion with apparent newcomers first to sound out how new they really are and if they seem nice … you don’t want to do this for someone with thousands of gold in their main account or for a gold seller).
Put on a mentor tag and call out in map in starter areas to ask if any newcomers have any questions.
You’ve squeezed out all your fun experiences, it seems, so help someone else find the fun too.

Not always. My guildie was surprised to find out that I’m female when he assumed I was male. I almost felt bad for the guy, the shock I gave him when he heard my voice for the first time.

It is totally and completely your own fault if you got burned playing pixel romance, and has no bearing what so ever on the perceived lack of content in GW2. If you came to GW2 looking for romance to be part of the experience, you need to rethink some things.
Since you are bored maybe you can spend some time reading the thread you posted 2 months ago asking more or less the same thing.
I’ll give you the exact same advice I gave you on you last thread on the exact same subject in June, because truthfully your issue hasn’t changed so neither I nor the other people on your other thread can say anything different.
Congrats on getting 30k AP.
I don’t know what to say about the problem of having done everything and content is stale now except maybe take a break and play something else until they release new content.
ANet may give it to you.

I need more ideas on what to do, and wasn’t about to necro my own thread. Things have gotten to the point where I’m forcing myself to log in.

Honestly, GW and GW2 has been my main game for a decade. I’ve played other games, but the time invested into my characters makes me feel obligated to play. Sure I like to think I’m loyal to Anet, but in reality, I’m addicted.

Who said anything about getting burned? There’s nothing wrong with a man RPing with another man. I’ll have you know that I’m a supporter of equal rights for the LGBT community. I’m not one to judge another for trying to find romance in a virtual world, be it a strapping young male Thief, or a beautiful female charr looking for an inter-species relationship.
Start being casual. Don’t log in every single day, or even every other day. And when you do log in, only play for a short amount of time (maybe do a couple dungeon runs or a fractal).
The most important thing is, when you don’t feel the urge to log in, don’t log in.

Sounds like all the more reason to walk away for a time, to me.
Sometimes it’s not good to get too attached to pixels, nor dwell too much in the nostalgia of past good times.
If you take my advice and I’m wrong, then you’ve lost a few weeks or months of time exploring other enjoyments, and I bet you’ll still feel a bit refreshed and eager to start up again on your return.

What keeps me logging in? I play the game sparingly, maybe an hour or two a day. Some days, I maybe play 5 minutes (Yep, dailies with something else going on IRL).
If you are addicted, and that’s a problem, the best cure for it would be cold turkey withdrawal. Find something else to do. I go for walks or to the gym, play tabletop games with friends, and follow football (Eu style, not US). Oh, and I forum, probably as much as I play.
A more moderate emancipation from the game would be to decide to play an hour a day max, or to play only until you start to feel bored. If just playing without a goal is not working, then set one (gather for an hour, or run a fractal or two). If there really is nothing you want and you won’t play just to play (i.e., no goals), try cold turkey for a while, then after you establish some other things you like to do, see if you can play for an hour here or there.
That’s all I’ve got for now, and have fun whatever you do.
Either play something else until new content comes out for gw2 or try something challenging, like solo fractals or soloing dungeons while timing yourself.
There’s a fair number of people who speed run paths all the time, trying to beat each other’s times. You can make a video of your best time and post it on the forums for all to see.
Been doing a lot of Pokemon hunting lately, so it’s not like I don’t have alternatives.
I tried being helpful to pugs in HoT maps, but all I can do is QQ when one group ruins the whole AB or TD meta. Going cold turkey is hard because the daily rewards were buffed, so perhaps I’ll just do the minimal log in if I don’t have a purpose that day.
Or I could just randomly mail Precursors to people in LA, and see what happens on Reddit.
I have 11 character slots so far and two 80s (one of which has gotten to LWS3 content). The remaining 9 characters range from level 10 to 55. So switching between each toon on a different day, depending on my mood (each is a different class) helps keep me interested in the game. So perhaps you could try to make a new toon, try a new class or playstyle?

i reached that right before the new bloodstone fen hit, and now i have that to keep me going. i also started all the legendary journeys, so i always have things to go kill and pretty cliffs to stand at and sigh dramatically into the wind like a starving artist

Yet something drove you to include it in your post as if it were going to generate some sort of sympathy. Nice try at turning it around to make me look like the bad guy here. Not going to work.

But for those of us who don’t play as frequently or as efficiently have plenty to do.
