Hello all,

Returning player having difficult time.

I’m looking for an exotic back piece that can be salvaged (so I can get it back if I find something better down the road)

I’ve finally acquired a Poly-luminescent Undulating Refractor from the Halloween event but I can’t for the life of me find anything I can socket it into!!!!!

I’ve been looking through the wiki for days trying to find a comprehensive complete list of exotic back pieces but I’m failing hard.

Does anyone have any recommendations?!?!

Thanks for any help or guidance!

I recommend you instead put it into an account-bound exotic accessory like the Bandit Death Mark (which would allow you a selection of the stats), Enchanted Key, and similar items. That way you can move it between characters.

As far as back items go, I know the Sclerite Karka Shell is account-bound, but I don’t think it can be salvaged.

A better tool for such a search would be http://gw2wbot.darthmaim.de/smiley/ .

Set the Level range = 80 – 80; Type = Back; Rarity = Exotic

When you get that two-page list, you’ll be able to select an item and look at its API information. If you see the flag “NoSalvage”, then avoid it.

I did a quick look myself, and it seems like many of the exotic level 80 backpacks which are salvagable are also rather hard to get (i.e. they’re account bound and can’t be bought on the TP). For your sake, I hope I overlooked an obvious one .

Edit:Oh! And before you apply the jewel, hover over the backpack with a salvage kit to make sure that it can be salvaged. I’d hate to see some esoteric code stop you from getting the jewel back… Heck, EW’s suggestion is just safer.
