Q:
Salvaging and precursor.
well since it is an exotic it will have a window pop up asking if you are sure you want to salvage it but i think it is still possible to do it if you then click yes ( i am not sure about this). Also in the wording for the weapon it will say it is used for the making of so and so legendary so it is easy to see if you have a precursor or not. this is the list of all precursors and the legendarys they make in case you are not sure. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Precursor

All precursors will say in the description: ‘This weapon is used to craft the legendary (weapon type) (legendary weapon name)’ (type and name depending on wich legendary it is used for).
Besides that I do think that when salvaging any exotic you get it is good practise to check the price on the tp before doing so. It’s not as if they drop every few minutes and saves a lot of trouble.

all precursors are exotic. and almost all exotics are better to sell on the TP than salvage. and those that are better to salvage, they are almost all best if salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
check the TP price before salvaging for maximum profits.
I don’t know why you not maximizing your profits makes me more agitated than it should.

With salvaging exotics, check the sigil well. Check it’s price on the tp, i have had on plenty occassions that the sigil was worth more than the tp price of the weapon. And then salvage with a blsk to make sure u keep the sigil. That way u have some globs, mats and the sigil
If it ain’t dutch,… :P
amen. I’ve actually made huge profits off buying an item, salvaging it for the socket, selling the socket, making a profit, then also getting ectos.
I REALLY wanted to do this to the rare charred back warmer, but apparently they don’t consider it a bug that you can’t salvage them…
