What is the best way to salvage dungeon armor? Would i buy the rare heavy armor chest pieces or will gloves work to. Should i salvage exotic heavy chest armor? I am confused, can i salvage exotic helm and get the same results as salvaging exotic chest piece? How does this work exactly?

If the dungeon is level 70+, get rares and salvage them.

Otherwise, get the cheapest piece you can.

As esplen said if it is 70+ and rare you can get 0-3 ectos . Also to your question about chest or helms, as both are rares and 70+ than they give the same chance at ectos so get helms or gloves not chest because it is a waste of tokens.
