Guild Wars 2

Hello dear community . I played GW2 when it was firstly released , 2 years ago. But i had to stop playing for more than 1 year. Now i am back and i need a menthor , because i have forgotten pretty much everything. I plan on focusing WvW content .I still havent decided which server to join, because all my old buddies are gone or i have lost contact .
I am gonna make a list of things that i would like to learn/know :
1.I am curious what class to pick .. can’t decide between Guard/Necro/Ele/Thief . After watching alot of videos i found out that these kinda suit my playstyle the most .
2.Can i get good enough items playing 90% of the time Wvw .And if i can’t what should i do?
3.My biggest concern about Necro is that i will be ignored in dungeons and kicked from groups .. is this a real thing or i over-think too much .
4.What server should i pick (I prefer English speaking one) since i plan to focus on wvw .I hope i can find a decent guild with friendly people .. i have alot to learn , but i am a good listener and i got alot of exp with MMO’s .
5.i understand exotics can be taken by gold. Are they good enough to feel productive in wvw .. i mean really helping the zerg or the guild group.
6.I hope some person who is already deep in the game contacts me .. or if i am lucky even invite me to play together in same server and share his exp with me. I might need some help and tips during my first encounter with dungeons/fractals etc etc. In other words .. looking for friends who focus on wvw to group and have fun together

I’m assuming you meant mentor? If you’re just looking for others to play with you should just try and find a WvW guild to roll with. If you enter the Eternal Battlegrounds without a guild tag you’re likely to get some invitations or you can ask around for one. Since you just came back you’ll want to just follow the zerg until you get to level 80 and collect all the necessary skills/traits/gear. Playing upleveled is a major disadvantage as you’ll have lower stats and deal less damage than true 80s. Just follow your commander which is the Blue Triangle “Dorrito” on the map.

1. Only you can figure out which class fits your playstyle the best. You can try out each class in PvP where you’ll have full access to all the skills/traits. It will give you a general idea of how it will perform in WvW.

2. You’ll earn Karma+Badges of Honor in WvW that can be spent on armor/weapons at the vendors. With Karma gear you’ll be limited to Soldier stats (Power/Toughness/Vitality) which isn’t that great unless you’re going for a bunker build.

With enough Badges you can trade them for (Soldier/Knight/Carrion/Cleric/Berserker/Rabid) gear, but they can’t be salvaged so any upgrades you put on them can’t be removed and would have to be overridden to use something else.

If you’re willing to invest the time to farm dungeons it’ll probably be faster. If you want “Berserker” gear farm Cathedral of Flames (path 1+2) and for “Soldiers” theres Ascalonian Catacombs (paths 1+3). Those two are the most beginner friendly so you shouldn’t have much trouble.

3. Unfortunately Necros are disliked in PvE, but as long as you’re doing your part you should be accepted in most pugs. You’ll probably have more trouble getting into speed runs/high level fractals though.

Higher tiers will have larger populations and therefore longer queues. If you’re more hardcore go with a high tier and if you’re casual go with something lower. I think somewhere between T2-5 is pretty good.

do you mean bought? You can acquire Exotic gear by buying them trough the trading post/dungeon tokens/crafting/random drops. Exotics is what a majority of players will be using at 80 with the only higher grade being Ascended which is only marginally better. The only real need for Ascended is for high level fractals where you would need the extra infusion slots for Agony Resistance. Otherwise its more of a vanity skin.

I can be a mentor for you if you’d like since I know a great deal about necromancers, as well as eles, mesmers, rangers, and thieves (sorta).
