Hi guys,

This is my first post on these forums and I would just like to say a big hello to all of you. I’m sure we will get along great :-D

Anyway, I am seeking for some advice. You see, I have been playing the game for a while now and I am very much anticipating getting to lvl 80. I am very much looking forward to seeing how the game plays out at max level. So I am trying to prepare for my big day when I hit that milestone.

Obviously the first thing I’d like to do is get my prospective build sorted out and this is what I’d like some feedback/suggestions on. I play a warrior, and looking around the traits the first thing that I saw that I thought would be fun would be a ranged/mobility build with the longbow. The idea is that I have a 50% crit chance on each of my bows 2 shots from dual shot, and if I do crit I get swiftness. I thought this would give me a pretty good advantage in combat, but as I am inexperienced with the games mechanics, I am unsure of its viability. Obviously I would be looking for high amounts of killing potential and high amounts of dps in the initial strike/rotation as well.

anyway, here is the link:

I chose WvW as the template for the build because I thought that would be a good starting point seeing as the sPvP template is very simplified and it would be easier to translate the build from WvW into sPvP rather than the other way round.

You should definitely check out the warrior subforum.

You are going to want stability skills when blobbing around in a large group so you don’t get locked down and swallowed by the enemy.

And then condition removal skills while roaming around in small groups because its a battle of attrition.

Some quick critiques on what you posted, I hope you have a second weapon on swap and you aren’t intentionally mixing rune sets on your armor.

As for trying to get a mobility advantage over your opponent, swiftness is alright, but the real speed comes from movement skills such as sword #2.
You’ll see soon that even though you are at max 1200 range, people will catch up to you really fast.
(Reason being: you move/strafe slower than charging straight towards the enemy. Plus a good majority of people will also have either swiftness as well or a +25% boost from traits/skills)

Consider bringing a melee weapon(some people will circle strafe you and make it difficult to hit with ranged attacks) and at least 1 condition removal skill.

Thanks for the input Sobat. I’ll take your suggestions for stability/condition removal on board. I was actually mixing the runes and I’m actually a bit surprised that that’s not a good idea, I guess those last few bonuses are more crucial than having some versatility.

I guess “Balanced Stance” and “Shake it Off” would be good starting points. Would you recommend the traits that trigger them automatically? Maybe “Superior Sigil of Generosity” would be a better alternative to “Shake it Off” though. That sigil in particular would definitely fall into the realm of a “battle of attrition”

I’ll post something similar in the warrior subforum, as you suggested.

I’ve adjusted a few things what do you think of this one:

I’ll make a link when I get home to clear more up.

But warriors are a hammer train in WvW. Meaning yet need to take a kitten load of damage, and still come out swinging and able to blast/condi remove/CC.

I wouldn’t taken any stability utilities with the first build just have a guardian or two in your party. In the second build I’d take endure/fgs/balanced.
