Q:
Selling crafted items
A:
The crafted backpacks are account bound, meaning you can’t sell them. If I remember correctly they were introduced to address the severe lack of low and mid level back items otherwise available. They’re not intended to be things you make huge numbers of copies of to level crafting.
Although nothing in GW2 is designed that way, since most crafting experience comes from Discovery rather than making repeats of known recipes.

Are we talking about these backpacks which are, unfortunately, account bound and do not have a value assigned?
You cannot put items that are soulbound or account-bound onto the trading post. All crafted backpacks are account-bound.
If the item does not have a vendor value, the merchant won’t take it either.
Either equip the backpacks on your characters, find space for them, or throw them away.
Thank you very much for your timely answers, all three of you. You answered my question splendidly, although it wasn’t quite the answer I was hoping for. The backpacks have to be thrown away, it seems.
Can you salvage them? I find that in leveling crafting it’s nice to recycle the things I make that I don’t want to use so I can eke out the mats a bit longer.
Sadly, no, you can’t salvage them. And you can’t forge them. What I did with mine (I made them all just to unlock all the skins) was put a couple in the bank to save for alts. That way my alts have an exotic back item with stats of my choosing when they hit level 78.

You can’t salvage these ones either. I’m not sure why.
I got a bit over-enthusiastic when they first came out and made the full set and now I have about 4 or 5 sitting in my bank waiting for alts to level up enough to use them. In addition to the ones I’m already using.
