Settling a 1v1 draw
My friends and I do 1v1 differently.
What we do is we do the following steps:
Step#1 – Choose weapons/utilities for own playstyle
Step#2 – Choose (Traits) to enhance own playstyle
Step#3 – Choose Armor/stats to Balance own playstyle.
Then we do 1v1 and see who’s strategy, tactics, build and skills are better.
We do it Same Class vs Same Class
And Different Class vs Different Class.
It adds more depth to the pvp 1v1 since you’re constantly going to change up builds and playstyles with 1 class while figuring out your opponent’s weakness.
If your opponent figures out your weakness, that’s when you start changing things up to make him/her guessing.
=) That’s what we do anyways.
Yeah that sounds cool.
But we are going for more of a bragging right type thing, my best vs your best, try and beat me.
We never had this problem before, and we have been doing this for a while. It just came up, and to keep this going without future complications, we are open to any suggestions as to how we can better go about this.
Sounds like the non-Ranger was a bit whiny. Pets are an integral part of the Ranger class and shouldn’t have been removed from the fight. The Ranger was handicapped in this tie breaker. (I can see the concern for stat differences due to the naked fight, but you can’t just separate a boy and his dog!)
Bringing in your best 1v1 build is great for tournaments. In the case of a draw, it might worthwhile to allow 15 minutes for a respec. This way the combatants can tailor a build specifically to take out the class they are facing. The participants already demonstrated that they are equals by reaching a draw. Now it’s time to demonstrate how intimately you know your class and the other class to see who comes out on top.

That was my argument as well, that its part of the class, and should not be taking it away. That would be like saying to a mesmer, “You can’t use clones, they will hurt too bad.”
But I like that idea about seeing if they can respec themselves to complete the duel.
Thanks!
It is simple in my eyes. No draw. You fight in your gear till someone dies. Forget time limits. Fight to the death. If you disengage for more then 5s then you are disqualified.
