Guild Wars 2

Well this is embarrassing.

I’ve been playing since release and have never seen this before.

The gate to Shaemoor Garrison is closed. I can’t seem to open it. I can’t seem to break it. I yelled, “Hero of Shaemoor here, open up!” and /wave ’d, nothing seems to work.

There isn’t any sort of event going on that I see. How do I get in there?

Now, I know I can walk all the way around and up, but what if I was, oh, level 6 and walking over there for the first time and it was locked? What would I do? :|

This is in the open world, right? I know that if a defense event fails, the keep can get taken over by centaurs and the WP made unavailable. Not sure if that’s what caused it, but if so, you might have to wait until the event to retake it starts up.

Ah, so maybe there are centaurs inside? I’ll go look.

Nope, no centaurs. The gate is shut, all the friendly NPCs are turning their noses up to the Hero of Shaemoor. :|

Huh. Which server are you on? I’d like to see this. =/

Emhry Bay. It’s possible it changed, I moved on. I did end up going around, but couldn’t open it from the inside either.

Was this in a personal story by any chance? IIRC one of the story missions has you kill trebuchets before they open the gate or some such nonsense like that

This is from the ‘Defend the Keep’ Dynamic Event. I’ve had it happen to me when the Centaurs don’t break down the gate, if the event triggers again it will fix it.
