Guild Wars 2

This is a complete shot in the dark but are there any guilds out there that run this event with some organization? I just want the backpiece but NO ONE EVER breaks the freaking breakbar. It’s the last achievement I need. I’ve been to shatterer 5 times a day each day this week and it never happens. Everyone seems to be asleep during this event and it’s a miracle if they even kill him (seen it happen maybe 3/10 times on average).

This is my last resort before I give up completely. I’ve already tried asking nicely in /say and begging in map chat for people to CC the boss, but no one seems to care enough to read chat or press something besides 1.

You shouldn’t need to do that achievement as I thought that there was an extra which provided a buffer.

But there are 2 achievements that require the Shatterer to be CC’d down, so there is no buffer.
In my experience it’s getting progressively harder to find a group willing to focus on CC instead of DPS. I get a single successful CC out of every 4-5 events, so eventually I’ll get the backpiece. But the final achievement (preventing kitten from ever taking off) would require something like TTS doing a coordinated Shatterer.

Your best bet would be organizing it yourself or finding the commanders about 15 min before it starts and asking nicely for them to help you. A lot of noobs will run around and do what the commanders tell them to which should be enough to get the CC down and get the achievements

I would be up for commanding it myself if I knew the precise times when the breakbar is supposed to appear. I’ve seen it happen at about 14:15 but after that I don’t know. It would be nice if the bar was visible for a little longer like 8 sec instead of 5… It’s just too fast for pugs to react. You have to assume pugs are pretty much asleep at the wheel these days.

The glider bombs and mortar attacks are really good knockdowns.

The only times I’ve seen him broken are when enough players go up in the air to bomb him. I’ve never seen regular CC successfully break his bar.
