Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone,

I got a lvl80 Guardian and I was wondering, what a good looking shield is. Right now i got one of those stupid round ones which everyone has (and wich i hate). Im a char guardian and i want a cool big shield. Not some wooden round noobish thing.

Anyone knows where to get a cool shield? Or do i just need to be lucky and find one that looks cool which i can switch with the shield i got now (only the appearance). Maybe in a dungeon or at a merchant?

Personally I am using a flame shield which is a rare fire-themed shield, it doesn’t look like the Citadel of Flame themed items and personally I have kept it ever since. The ‘flame’ greatsword also looks amazing, you could check those weapons out and see if you like them.

Good point, thanks. Still want to hear others opinions tho. I for one really wonder why Anet only made so few different model shields.

I like the Steam Shield design on my engineer, but that’s because I throw the shield so it having all those sawblades on the edge makes some sense.

The problem is that we cannot say what is a ‘cool’ looking shield. It is you who needs to decide on that. If your looking for a not round shield you have a lot of options.
My advise is to visit the different karma vendors for cultural weapons and other weapon vendors and use the preview option on all shields you see.

What everyone else is saying is correct, looks and the idea of “cool” is an entirely personal thing, something only you can decide upon. I have a friend that likes the Priory shield, its like a giant book, but personally, its not for me.

But there is a much better way of previewing shields, weapons and armor in the game rather than viewing multiple web pages, Go to “heart of the mists” from the pvp tab of the hero panel, over on the east side are “pvp lockers” where you can view all the easily gettable skins in the game, seperated by catagory, and you can preview what they all look like on your character.

yea i would go to the heart of the mists as well and preview stuff there.

i personally love the flameguard that Lethalvriend mentioned as well. it’s pretty sizeable and looks pretty menacingD the Vigil shield is great as well! would love to be able to sport that
