Should I gamble ?
I’d say no but if you don’t try then you won’t be giving yourself an opportunity to get one. kitten ed if you do and kitten ed if you don’t. Maybe just do it in increments instead of blowing it all in one big hit. If you end up doing it at all.

Right now, best bet is to keep saving up and hope for precursor crafting/scavenger hunt. That said, if on your travels you get rares you can always chuck em in the forge, but unless you feel like you’re rather lucky on a character, it’s not worth it.
I understand what you all mean but if i start spending my gold it’ll be a no return… I’m just tired of pve so I can’t get gold anymore . I can’t run dungeons for 500g more since I’ll probably stop pve. Gambling is my only way …
@Mystic : I lost hope when Anet anouced this in 2013. Look, we’re in 2014 and nothing so, i don’t trust anet anymore.
Don’t gamble. It only work on big scale. If you have more than a thousands gold you can make several attemps at getting a precusors, sell them and then use the gold to make more precursors. If you only want Spark, buy it on the TP.

But i am getting sick of the TP price. It is rediciuos to buy a precursor with that price. If you blow all your gold in MF, and if you got nothing, your have nothing left. On the other hand, if you hold on the gold and you have nothing too. So unless you are very lucky (which seems very unlikely), you still got nothing in the end.
But, if you forget about legendary until it chose you as a loot or there are new way or new set of legendary, maybe your gold will lead you to a legendary faster than you can think.

Maybe yea, i should just forget about legendaries until i loot my precu… It’ll take me forever. Seriously guys, my guild leader has 14k AP and 5 legendaries. One day i asked him “have you ever loot a precu?” and he says “not a single one” NOT A SINGLE ONE for 14k ap, what a shame …
On the other hand, the second of the guild, for a same time spend in game, has : loot dawn, and recently forged dusk with only 220g, it’s really unfair…
I’ll probably gamble, and if i loose everything, too bad you know, i’ll give up on legendary, it’s just pixel after all …

If your mostly going to do PVP then what does it matter if you have them skins? I have 5 80s, all decked out in exotic and a few ascended pieces, about 200g and until I level another toon I have nothing to spend the money on.
(although full disclosure, I got Ashes of Al’ar and it pretty much ruined grinding for gear for me. So I always have a rather negative attitude to endless random grinding. I would love a game that locked the big items behind measurable means, a set amount of AP or some hard to do task. The more random elements the worse its going to be. Not to mention, once you have one, you are going to want others and so it continues)
Just to chime in…WHY do you want a Legendray so bad at this point? You can distrust Anet, but one thing I feel confident about is they ARE going to allow some sort of precursor crafting AND introduce some new Legendary Weapons (and I feel it will be relatively soon). My 2 coppers is that you play PvP (that you appear to enjoy) and make some coin on the side in other ways (if you are burnt out on Dungeons). There are plenty of other ways to make some gold (some better than others), but I would NOT go and flush your savings down the Mystic Toilet…..
Also, do you actually have all the other materials for crafting the Legendary? There is some significant work and gold required there as well.

normally I recommend never gambling unless you’re in it to gamble and not actually expecting to get anything useful out of it.
however, it seems that to you the choice is either gamble or give up. In that case, I would say gambling is better. Because the outcome of gambling is either you get it or you don’t. So if you have the choice between get it or don’t get it and give up, I would go with the former.
just so you know, based on drop rate research done by people on reddit, Spark is looking at about 1100g per Spark when trying to gambling it from the forge (although, this is not counting the daggers you get out of it that aren’t Spark). If you are only going to throw in 500g, then you’ll have a 45% chance of getting it. approximately a flip of a coin if you’ll get it or not.
also, it looks like the current cheapest thing to use to try and get Spark is crafting the Assassin’s Krait Ripper, followed by Sentinel’s Krait Ripper and Carrion Krait Ripper. (they are rare daggers; costs about 46s/dagger to make).

Ty all for your answers ! I know pvper shouldn’t want to make a legendary but I love too much, not the skin of the inci but the effect. In main hand dagger it looks amazing. Anyway, I don’t know why but I was in fire when I posted this tread but thanks to you all guys, my gold is safe !
Now I haven’t give up but I just want to take my time, save my gold. i’m sure I’ll never buy spark, it seems insane for me to burn 1100g on a precu. So, I’m saving my gold and crossing my fingers at every chest I open ^^. I hope, like a lot of you said, new legendary and new way to get a precu will come up, I really hope !!

@Mystic : I know gambling with rare seems cheaper but I don’t want to push my luck to far (like 4 rares into exo, and this exo should be a precu …) but ty for the % you gave me, now I know the risks and I’ll not do it .
A little less of a gamble than the MT is to invest some of your Gold into the TP. It’s far less fun than PVE for gold making but some do it VERY well and can make decent gold if you know what you’re doing. Could be an option 3 to get to that $1200
