Should I invest in the 18 slot bags? D:
There are intermediate bag sizes that you could buy for cheap off the TP as people level their crafting professions. 8 to 18 seems like a big leap right now, especially with bags available on the TP for prices below the raw material cost.
You could also use that gold to buy gems and get more bag or bank slots.
I’ve for 3 10 slots and a safebox that’s 8, and I haven’t run into any bag space issues yet. I say go for something cheap and cheerful, and you’ll be fine.

I use 8 slot bags from the point where I could craft them and very few times I ran into inventory-full problem. Just make sure that after you finish DE/heart, you talk with NPC and sell stuff you dont need.
Probably unnecessary really. I can’t see how anyone would need that much space unless they were lazy and never sold their junk or deposited materials
Thanks for reminding me about buying new bag slots. I decided to just fork over the 2g for two bag slots, and buy a pair of 12 slot bags. Total of around 2.5g for 24 extra bag space, that should be all I’ll ever need, unless I decide to carry around multiple sets of extra gear.
I’d get upgrades even 10 slot bags helped a lot compared to those 8 ones..

Considering that you can deposit collections no matter where you are, I think it would be a waste.
Right now ~ 1.10 gold = 400 gems which you could use to buy bag slots and put cheaper 12 slot bags in. Cheaper.
Just get the middle bag. The 10-slot Bag should cost less than… say… 10 silver. Buy 5 of those, get 10 more slots for 50 silver. Roughly. I crafted all my 10-slot bags, gave all my old 8-slots to my other characters.
If you plan on crafting to max levels, I highly recommend bigger bags.
If not, don’t bother. Stick with cheaper bags.
If you are stockpiling for the Mystic forge follow the above advice but I can tell you from testing yesterday with crafted gloves and hammers the “patterns” of input and return on the wiki are wrong. I did 3 sets of hammers and got 3 different results (not just diff added stats, different levels). On 4 sets of gloves all came back similar but swapped out stats vitality, power, etc. There is a forge in the mist so you dont have to go back to lions every time.
At some point you may need more space for multiple sets of armor. I myself will probably have a condition, direct damage, and precision set depending on what my traits are. That way my armor and trait will synergize and make me more effective.
