Guild Wars 2

I cannot believe how different this game is to what I thought it was going to be, I have been gaming for long enough to know not to get into the hype but this goes beyond that, this game is broken on the basic level.

This game is just bad, This game has usurped the original Guild Wars as far as I’m concerned, they have took a clean, well thought out game and made this complete mess.

I can see how the PvE aspect is appealing to many but the PvP has lost everything it stood for and that’s what guild wars has always been known for.

World vs World PvP is just stupid, they have created a clone game here, it’s no different from any other thrown together, disposable FTP game out there.

Clunky, unresponsive and seems rushed, they have took a good idea (GW and destroyed the idea, mutilated it.

It looks bad, feels bad, the PvP maps are a joke, messy and child like, everything is just a cluster mash of stupidity, if you touch a? stone on the PvP maps you stop dead, the camera is idiotic (especially when you are in battle) Targeting and auto attack is bugged and does what it wants.

Oh God this game is just so bad….

I’m not bothered about the money, I was looking forward to this game, I even upgraded my machine for it but this has not met even half of what I hoping, what ever happened to getting the solid basics right and building from that, they already had it which makes it even more confusing to me.

I’ve given it a few days now just to make sure it’s not just because I’m new and unfamiliar with it but nah, out of all the things it’s the responsiveness and control of your character, it’s just clunky and poor, how could they mess up jumping and rolling so bad, the terrain just seems to be working against you constantly.

I predict this game dying off within 6 months with only the die hard fans still playing it because this is one over hyped piece of garbage.

This will never be a competitive PvP game, it just can’t in it’s current state.

Sometimes players find games that just do not fit well with them. I am sorry you have had a bad experience with GW2. I however am having a great time with this game, and enjoy the PvP (I hated the PvP in GW1), PvE content is just amazing, the game runs smooth and just feels right to me … not clunky in the least. The combo of skills between classes is what really keeps me going. Using a set group of friends through a PvE dungeon, or in WvW content is just amazing! I could go on and on about the different aspects of this game that I enjoy, but you do not want to hear all that.

Maybe this game just is not for you?

Can’t work for everyone but I think you are the far exception. I wasn’t going to play this game when I was at PAX Prime last year and the guy there said “NO GRIEFING!” and everyone cheeeered! What fun is in no griefing!? But my wife reminded me that I always find a way to grief people, and she was right. But it’s much less often than other games. I spend most of my time in game having tremendous fun even being a grief-minded player, and I really can’t imagine anyone not having fun unless they have no one to play with.

So if you need a group come to Jade Quarry and join WvW.

To be fair, setting up targeting settings in Options is rather confusing. I still haven’t got it set up the way I want it to be.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree on literally every single point you’ve made here. The game is fantastic, nothing is clunky. Everything is incredibly responsive and the combat is more fluid than any other MMO I’ve played. Also, I see this game becoming an eSport down the road. I don’t think it’s quite ready yet (spectator view nudge nudge) but it’s definitely heading that direction.

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it, but the game really is incredible and I see it becoming a great success as time passes.

A lot of people I have played with that don’t like the game say it is bad because they can’t be better than everyone else. As in there is no one class that has a distinct advantage over others. Fairly balanced PvP just doesn’t sit well with some people.
