I’m thinking of building a scepter/torch crit guardian and would like to have a sigil of fire for the flame blast AOE. Will the sigil of fire trigger for the scepter or torch if I equip it on my second weapon set, or would I have to insert it into the weapon set I want it to trigger with?

The sigil will only trigger when x set with it is out otherwise it will do nothing. Example I have a “http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Water” on my water weapon (speargun) it will only trigger when i’m using that weapon and no other time.

Hopefully this gives you some clarification.

you can trigger the sigil off anything as long as you have the weapon out, example: put sigil of fire on shield while using shield/axe, if your dodge roll can deal damage, and it crits, the flame blast can trigger.

no, it will only trigger on the weapon set currently in use. main or off hand does not matter. it just has to be out.
