Hi,

Can someone please explain what the Silverwastes is all about, what to do there and what the rewards are? Am I correct in saying that this is the best place to earn a lot of gold?

Thanks in advance.

There are two main activities in silverwastes: chest farming and the event chain.

Chest Farming
Fairly straight forward. A big group of players gets together, one or more uses Silverwastes Shovels to open buried locked chests and then everyone uses bandit skeleton keys to open them. You can buy the keys with bandit crests and gold or get them as drops in Silverwastes (and rarely Drytop because they come from piles of sand). IMO it’s quite boring but it can be profitable.

Events
This is the main feature of the map and much more complicated.

Phase 1: Defense
There are 4 forts on the map, going clockwise from the top left they are: Blue Oasis, Indigo Cavern, Red Rock Bastion and Amber Sandfall. The Pact, with help from players, needs to first take over and then successfully defend all 4 from the Mordrem.

Progress is shown by the event UI, the first stage is trying to hold all 4 forts, stage 2 and 3 are defending them whilst doing side events like defending pack bulls and repairing the forts to progress their preparations.

Phase 2:Breach
Once all the 3rd stage defence events are done and the Pact are prepared holes open in the middle of each fort. You need to jump into them and fight a boss, each of which has it’s own mechanics. For example the Teragriff’s run around a circle very fast and hit like trucks. They need to be immobalised (or at least crippled) to fight them effectively. It’s on a timer so each group needs to be organised.

(But the events progress either way, the worst that happens is everyone gets less loot.)

Phase 3:Vinewraith
This is over on the west side of the map. There are 3 lanes where players need to defend siege carriers as they breakdown vine walls. One lane at a time (bottom first) gets in to fight a boss, if they succeed it progresses to the next one, if not the next lane has to fight their boss. You get as many chances as you can fit in before 15 carriers are killed. As with the Breach how much loot everyone gets depends on how the event goes.

Importantly if you’re looking for a way to make money the vast majority of gold from both methods comes from selling items (or salvaging them and selling the materials) rather than directly from the events. If I start with about 30-40s I’ll have just over 1g at the end of a successful run and enough loot bags that I can’t open them all at once. After I’ve sold/salvaged all of that I’ll have 5-6g if I don’t get anything better than rares.

Thank you for the video.

Can more than one person open a single chest? By that, I mean, if a player digs up a chest, can x amount of people have access to the chest if each of the players has a key?

If a chest is found using a shovel, anyone can open it once while its showing and they have a key. There’s no limit on how many people can, but lost bandit chests can be open by everyone in the area (which is why you’ll find chest farming and trains of people going and opening all the chests) once found.

Same for any chest on the map, just like any other map would be. There’s only a limit on a tarnished chest found with the bandits hideaway, which can be open once per day, per account. The second chest to break this rule as well is the Greater Nightmare Pod, which if you had 10 Nightmare Keys can be opened 10 times consequentially by you without leaving the area c:
