Guild Wars 2

Was playing WvW on Aurora Glade tonight, and had a weird experience:
- clean fight (no conditions)
- 1 on 2 (Warrior (me) vs. Necro and Eng)
- the engineer kept his distance
- the Necro had a one shot kill on me…………..?

My Stats:
- 26,900 HP
- 3,299 Combined Armor
- I was at full HP…

Comments plse?…

Should have checked the Combat log. That being said … necromancers tend to use a lot of condition damage(don’t have to be that seems to be the general way people build them). They also have a couple of life steal options. Both of those makes armor irrelevant.

Agreed, but more than 26,900 in a single shot. The most I have seen is a 18k crit from a warrior at the end of his GS #2 (before armor negation of course).

Heh … friend managed to hit the destroyer boss in Sorrow’s Embrace using the Fiery Greatsword somewhere in the range of 50k total. That was actually more than one attack but a little bit of lag could easily make it look like a single attack.

What was the actual damage number that you saw?

It is possible for a necro to do so much damge with 1 attack but 8 hits.

You should have checked the combat log, it would have told you the exact numbers and skills used.

I think you had a lag there, I play a build somewhat similar to the one linked, I wouldn’t imagine it to reach more than 8k on a player with the stats you mention. Even that number seems off to me, but I play mostly PvE.

Thanks for the responses guys… and yes, in hindsight, I should have looked at the combat log… I try and post it next time, tough I hope it never happens again.

Sounds like sealthed thief that restealths after death hit? lol

I’ve noticed lag seems to make situations where only one hit was visible/identifiable but after checking the logs have found that I have been hit as many as 20 times and I can only put this down to really bad timing on a really bad lag spike.

yeah 26k hp and that kind of armor….most likely u got hit by other attacks too at the same time.necro+thief=biiig ouch
