Skill coefficient?
The skill coefficient would be something like 0.9 or 1.1 or something like that. 252 is the result of that equation already but based on base stats iirc. If you search and find what the game automatically plugs in for those values, you can reverse the equation to come up with the coefficient that you can then use to find your actual damage
Is there a list of these skill coefficients?
I found one for guardians, but not warriors.
I can tell you some basic information that will help you though.
252 = (weapon damage – I don’t know what rarity they based the formula. Does the tooltip change when you equip an exotic vs a rare?) * Base Power (Your power w/o gear equipped) * x (coefficient) / 2600
Doing this formula should give you 252 = (a number)x. Divide by that number and you SHOULD get the coefficient
What is the 2600? And base power, you mentioned w/o gear equipped. What about traits? Should I un-trait completely also?
2600 is the armor value that the tooltips use, according to the articles and posts I have read. It’s the value for the heavy training dummy iirc.
And yes, no traits as well. As far as I know, since i didn’t see anything specifically when I was reading, but what makes me assume so is you don’t HAVE to take power traits so they wouldn’t have added that to the universal tooltips.
The coefficient for Chop would be:
800 = (952.5 (this is the average damage for a 1 handed weapon)) * (Your power) * (Coefficient) / 2600
If we assume you have an average power of 1900 at level 80, then we say:
2080000 = (952.5)(1900)(coefficient)
2080000 = 1809750 * (coefficient)
= 1.14933 rounded to 1.15
So your coefficient for Chop is 1.15 or so, but that’s given some assumptions and based on the non-specific tooltip damage you gave us. In order to get the actual number, you need to have your exact damage and your exact power (NOT attack) stat. There’s a coefficient like this for every single weapon skill and damaging utility, including each individual skill in your autoattack chain. For utilities, you use 1000 as the weapon damage.
Edit: By the way, the usefulness of knowing this number is that you can now insert any armor level, and any power stat, and figure out how much damage you’re going to do on average. You can’t really determine that unless you know the coefficient for the skill.

What about for a skill that doesn’t factor in weapon damage, such as Lich Form?
I assume that it uses 1000 for weapon damage just as utility skills do, but that may or may not be the case.

[(Skill Coefficient)*( Average Weapon Strength * Power )]/2600 = ( Tooltip Damage)
IOkay got it. I don’t see why taking off all traits and armor is necessary though.
And Is there a way to hit consistent damage without Steady weapons in pve?

I just said that because the tooltip is your base power which is your power without traits or gear. Finding your true damage you would use your actual power.
But to find the actual coefficient you need to go by the tooltip which is based off of base power
That’s why it SAYS 282 but you hit for ~800
