I’ve read both the wiki page entry on this and watched several videos on how to do it and I’m still incredibly stuck on it. It’s gotten to the point where I’m just frustrated, it seems my jumps aren’t landing where the video’s or pictures show them or the timing of the lava spurts is irreducibly unfair.

I would love a messmer to help me up it BUT it takes away from being able to open that chest at the end and getting the achievement and mastery and that also seems unfair. Any one else in the same boat as me and just really, really stuck on it?

If you don’t have advanced gliding you cannot finish without the help of a mesmer so keep that in mind. The glides can go around every fire spout that I have seen, just angle a bit and then circle back, they spawn at fixed sites. If you do find a willing mesmer have then help you to each check-point and then you will be able to get the chest and title at the final spot.

I have not done that jumping puzzle, but I hope if it requires advanced gliding that the initial part of the puzzle is gated by a glide that requires it. Tricks of the trade and all that.

Advanced is only required at the end, as I found out the hard way on an account. The puzzle is fairly straight forward after you know the route, I have no idea why they left it to the very end to let people know advanced was required.
