Guild Wars 2

Greetings, GW2 community. I bought this game last August, started playing it, played around with different classes and specs in structured PvP (which was probably a mistake, given my lack of experience with the game in general), but then got distracted by various other things going on in my life, so I eventually stopped playing.

Recently, I decided to return to the game, and I was set on getting a fresh start, beginning again from scratch. Therefore, I tried to create a new account, but then I learned that I could not make a second account due to having already used the code on the game box.

Nevertheless, I was set on starting over fresh. Thus, I went onto my current account, deleted all the different low level characters I had made, and made a brand new character. However, I realized too late that the characters I had deleted still had some valuable items in their bags, and those were now lost.

Thus, I figured that since I had accidentally deleted some of my items, and since I was still dead set on starting over, I went into my bank and deleted everything. Every last item.

In hindsight, this may have been a mistake.

I realize now that, no matter what, I can’t start over anyway, as your wallet is account-bound, so I still have all the currency I got from my old characters.

What do I do now? (Also, if you have any recommendations for a nice, lively realm for me to try out, feel free to mention that)

I’m not sure what your question/problem is here. Do you want your items back? Do you want to get rid of all the gold in your wallet?

That’s the problem, I suppose. I’m looking for suggestions of what to do. Where do you think I should go from here? Is there a way to get my items back, by the way?

As far as the items – I kind of doubt it? I suppose you could contact ANet, but since you deleted them yourself and it wasn’t like you accidentally destroyed an expensive item by misclick or got hacked, I feel it’s kind of unlikely they would restore your items. Can’t hurt to ask, I guess.

As for what to do now assuming you don’t get your stuff back…I really wouldn’t waste the gold – you’ll probably regret that in the far future too, lol. Maybe just make a pact with yourself to not use any of your extra gold (gold not earned on your new chara) until you max out and want to burn it on exo/ascended/legendary stuff. Just make a new char and start playing again. I think the game’s changed a lot in the last year (I don’t know when you quit, but it sounds like it was pretty early on?) Plenty of new stuff has gotten added, so there’s lots for you to explore and try out. Just play the game however you enjoy it.
